It’s not fair, this challenge is much tougher living where I do I’m going to drive somewhere flat and use my roadbike

Garbaruk XD cassettes are equivalent to XX1 in my experience but for a lot less money

No in this case it’s not the problem I think they have a backlog of shimano orders and sell more Sram compatible components so they have a higher stockholding of sram cassettes and chainrings you can get the Shimano compatible stuff, you just have to wait

So this is one of the reasons I didn’t put a group together - garbaruk prioritize my orders but on one condition …..no shimano stuff. I’m not sure why so I’d have to wait 3 months to get stuff I could get in 3 weeks and I’m way too selfish

Riversdale Swellendam on the gravel road is one of the prettiest rides I’ve done - it’s pretty tough but easier from the swellendam side - not easy, easier 😂

If you know the area well you could go in at the dam and around the varsity and pop out at the gate along 7 passes - you could also just get off your bike and portage that section where the road collapsed although I can’t confirm this because I haven’t personally investigated that section since the flood damage and we’ve had even more rain

It’s all held up remarkably well because they’d just completed drainage upgrades - the only section damaged badly is the tarred section near the university where a large section washed away
