  1. Sounds like someone is stealing my training plan
  2. Can anyone help or recommend a close by LBS that might help pack this bike - I purchased it of a lady but it belonged to her late dad and she is clueless about bikes (her words) She is super helpful and sweet so I’m hoping she can drop it off somewhere in the area and I can pay someone to pack it for me so I can arrange collection - thanks
  3. Same weight as my Pyga, cmon spez 🤣 how will Matt keep up with me ? I should see his teammates (Tristan) bike around here soon which is a large and will be a bit lighter. I was drooling over his roadbike yesterday. I’m not a spez fanboy but boy if ever there was a bike to turn me to the dark side …
  4. I don’t go up that one anymore 🤣Down at least once a week that and the tar road up to wilderness heights have both caused me to vomit I need to toughen up, maybe I’ll give T shirt hill a go tomorrow but only once
  5. Do fat burners work ? asking for a chubby friend also he wants to know if they will make him faster ?
  6. I tried to climb 1000m in the shortest amount of km so hot I gave up 40km 850m bergplaas Hoekwil
  7. I don’t have a vpn so I assume that’s why I’m watching some race in France on GCN rather than the race around which I’d planned my day - omloop not even appearing in my race tv screen
  8. Geez I’m an open book - I qualified on every front (apart from facial hair) in my defence I only got the gravel bike after realising I had all the necessary quals and the land rover and alfas have moved on ….
  9. And get them shipped a week apart - I’ve managed to do this
  10. If I ride hard the best I’ll achieve is a no man’s land 330 So the last couple of years I’ve guided first time friends around trying to keep them safe and having fun. Last year I took someone on a tandem which I’d never ridden. make no mistake I push hard between coffee stops and my now traditional beer stop before suikerbossie This year I’m guiding once more and I’ve found this so much more rewarding than having my relatively large frame drag a bunch of sub 3 no hopers from Scarborough to noordhoek as for ebikes, I don’t care and it it doesn’t hurt my ego nearly as much as if a + 95kg middle aged man drops me. That stings just like when my neighbours 15 year old daughter passes me as she does regularly. I now ride before she finishes school Whether you’re a savage putting down the hammer for your hard earned sub 3, a weekend warrior just trying to finish within your goal, an ebike enjoying the privilege of this glorious route or a Uber cool devastatingly handsome gravel biker who can’t grow a beard, we should all take time out to remember how lucky we are to be able to pedal around this majestic peninsula whilst so much real sh!t is actually happening here endeth my sermon, have fun
  11. Riding my Pyga this week as I’m still sulking with my Gravel bike after it’s dismal day in PE last Sunday so green and humid this morning
  12. No ones giving odds on causing sh$t
  13. Now I’m definitely going to win on my gravel bike unless I get beaten by a bmx
  14. Definitely no ripped core or popeye arms and I'm the opposite of tough as matter of interest what gravel bike and how wide were your tyres?
  15. this looks amazing Sp whats the verdict, gravel bike or MTB?
  16. I haven't bought an ebike but you have described me pretty much dead on
  17. Strand hardware - I used to live in cape st Francis and drive to PE just to hang out there, pure tool porn excellent service and good pricing
  18. I wish I hadn’t gotten out of bed today The herald cycle tour can be immense fun - I took an hour longer than last time - 80km of riding straight into a howling west - the home straight tail wind could do nothing to lift my spirits I was weak, slow and actually wonder If somethings wrong - I had 2 casual vomits and could not hang onto a single bunch - at least 90km solo I didn’t enjoy a single moment and should have quit but I need the miles I’m definitely out sulking my 13 year old daughter today and my head is pounding moan moan moan
  19. I’m not sure what they cost but I find the range, availability, service and most importantly, durability of the makita 18v range unrivaled locally You will pay a bit more but you won’t regret buying into their eco system Not that others aren’t good but makita is the Toyota Hilux of tools
  20. My strategy for winning this race is simple and fool proof hammer down to kalk bay - coffee and croissant rejuvenated hammer down to noordhoek for 2 cokes and a a jig to eye of the tiger blitz chappies like it’s a downhill to houtbay stop for a full size Weiss (no halves) and KOM suikerbossie passing the pretenders and wannabes and dip for the line at greenpoint thanks and see you on my back wheel if you can hang on
  21. Those flannel shirts hide my mamil middle plus I look extra cool when ordering my cortado added bonus is that when the tightly clad crew pass me I can pretend I’m cruising and don’t care that I’m being dropped
  22. Picknpay have nice checkered shirts and you can look cool like me - 3 for 599 - get a gravel bike grow a beard and save on the toight Lycra
  23. I use SK50s and love them but like @Jewbacca said, the standard Panaracers roll fast - I’m about to ride 2 road races on the 38 Panaracers these roll so fast I’m probably going to win the argus
