  1. Coke and seriously good carrot cake along the route of my long hilly ride yesterday Pit stop for this at the garden route trail park
  2. Put 3 items on the classifieds this afternoon and went and cooked supper - logged back on, a million replies and all sold. I forgot to put on my phone number thankfully. I sold expensive items for fair money and they were snapped up. Will list some more tomorrow
  3. Shirt on eBay for 600 euros - the entire range of clothing and kit sold out in hours
  4. you guys (NSBB and Pikey) sound like old men complaining about young peoples music or like those old people shouting at their phones. Flared bars are cool guys and you know they are functional, take it from a hip young gravel biker like me EDIT**you two remind me of my local LBS who told me the 29ers won't catch on and 1x made no sense
  5. not something I often hear
  6. It definitely feels this way when you line up at most events That is in no way proof, just my gut feel ***apart from KZN based events
  7. the other day I put a small flask in it and a peanut butter sarmie - stopped at the top of a big long hill I've discovered. Really cool. I actually bought this Farr one to use as a template to make my own leather one. As usual I haven't gotten around to that project
  8. correct but not entirely - I got cold on the way back and my jacket on. But it does live on there because I generally ride in a tshirt. Jacket, tools, sunblock, lip balm, emergency gel and gate remote are permanently in there and I add phone That said I would ride with it empty anyway as I am unable to grow a hipster beard
  9. Flared and really wide, 540 on the hoods and 640 in the drops. The reason I believe is comfort for longer rides. What I have noticed that in almost any position my wrists are straight which is great for circulation. Riding in the drops is also way more comfortable than in the drops on my road bike. Obviously less aero but not a factor on a gravel bike
  10. I better start hunting a bike to hurt you
  11. With the days getting longer, Monday’s can end better
  12. I'm busy organising and planning one such place
  13. Ek is n Rooinek van Durban af - ek sal maar net aan die foties kyk
  14. The bicycle is beautiful. I love bikes and if I had endless cash I wouldn't mind buying a 200k bike to ride to the coffee shop or to come 3337 in the CTCT I'd do it because I was minted and love bicycles so to my mind it wouldn't be a waste I don't align myself with the brand despite their great bikes. So in la la land where I have all this loot, I'm not a buyer. But in la la land with money falling out of my stuffed pockets I'd spend millions on bikes But if you like spez and you have a spare 200k that you earned, buy it, I won't knock you, it's your money. In this case some of the hate is Spez related, for some the money seems obscene. Spez don't care and neither do the guys who are going to own one But it's still beautiful. All bikes are beautiful, even the ugly ones. From 1000 bucks to this bargain, I love em all
  15. A nice 50km out and back ride from home - 1200 elevation in my shaky legs Basil and Katie showing no interest in my bike
  16. new movie on the way I think
  17. there goes that line I cast hoping to get a bite from you. That frame looks a bit big for you..just saying I know that's a special project for you, look forward to seeing it
  18. remember I had conditions - I can't take the free 200k bike or motorbike and sell it - I have to keep it and use it In which case absolutely yes I would choose the bicycle
  19. valid point regarding value But lets say I was given the option of a 200k motorbike or a 200k bicycle. I am not allowed to sell either, I'm just allowed to accept the gift and have lifetime rights. I'm taking the bicycle Although in your particular example I would rather have the Honda
  20. I have a project in mind if someone has a 56/58 Colnago steel frame that needs a new home and I will pay fair/market related money - paintwork is irrelevant although reasonable chrome is important
  21. an extra week to pack my machine
  22. fortunately or perhaps unfortunately in the financial sense, making sense and bike purchasing don't go together Except for the very few sane and reasonable hubbers
  23. ahh ffs - my life has been carefully planned around these 54 odd consective race days Now what will I do on that day, ride my bike? I'm so much faster on the couch
