  1. Top tip, if you are looking for info or views, the weekend in hubland is quiet. Most prefer to talk about bikes when we should be working Monday to Friday This is a colnago and worth restoring - keep your eyes peeled in the classifieds. Some frames are worth keeping the patina, this one not so much. Get it painted, ask around, I know a few guys who have had nice paint jobs done in JHB It won't be cheap - in the meantime get busy shining the bits you can whilst hunting parts. Ask for help (monday to mid morning Thursday) Some guys go all in for accuracy which is probably the right way, I personally go for old bikes and modern components - that way I get up hills easier

Some detours on the way back About 90km each way - gravel, lots of climbing but easy enough depending on your pace. Gravel bike heaven, MTB obviously and road bike doable if you are tough and like rattling around (not suggested) Places to stay and food in abundance NICE THREAD OP

  15. and excellent upgrade to anyone's gravel bike - you don't feel it working but your back and spleen are grateful in the morning
  16. Geez I think it's pretty simple, you can only rate on a transaction - if someone ghosted you, didn't return your call, hurt your feelings etc, their loss move on Like Jewie implied, it will get ridiculous if we start rating on anything apart from a transaction and it will devalue the system
  17. Your sentiment is great but forgiving someone for screwing you over is a bit stoic - if he did it and you think it was unintentional then chat to him, let him rectify it. But if you don’t rate the deal on its merits the unintended consequences might cost one of us I offer a money back guarantee if my item doesn’t match description or someone is unhappy - not here to make money or rip anyone off
