  1. I reckon that the best way is to go, if money is not an issue that is, is to go for UST rims, (Mavic XM 819's or the Stans Olympic ZTR) simply because you do not have to battle with rims strips and your tyre of choice. Other wise just go the conversion route, both work well. I must admit that I use tubeless Slim, the green stuff, as I find that Stan's/Joe's sealent causes the sidewalls of ordinary tyres to stick together when you deflate them, just my 2c.
  2. Until I was about 15 all my sus forks were RST's, never had a complaint with them...sigh.... Those old 281's, heavy as hell but bombproof and cheap.
  3. Copper slip is fine, been using on everything from titanium to carbon and have had no probs yet
  4. Ahhh Rockshox...sigh... Yup sell off that dodgy Fox and go buy a SID world cup or wait for the new one which is coming out next month

  11. madmarc calm down before you give yourself a Hernia. It works fine so what is basically wrong with it.
  12. Ahh.... yes. I saw the word intervals in his post and jumped the gun well spotted
  13. Are you not an early riser Andrew?
  14. I am not arguing with that epoh, Witrot said that he ws loosing weight and I was just keen to know why if he was supplementing and doing intervals Andrew - thanks, gives me an idea
  15. Okay maybe an explanation, crunches and pushups take 20 mins every moring. I run on a Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 for 30 mins and then hit the bike till 7:30 (ish). Shower and eat. Then head down to Varsity. I do full core at round about 8 pm which takes 45 mins.
  16. I go to varsity and its 5 times a day and you missed out the training sessions on the bike.
  17. Should a protein shake not make you put on weight, muscle that is. One would have thought so, especially if you are doing intervals. ie. high intensity excercise + protein = muscle gain = more weight
  18. I thought a DB9 was an Aston Martin, my dream car.......sigh...... EB- Depends what you were smoking when you bough it, but generally, NO &%%^&% way, that is damnation stuff. I am just don't want to fork out the money for a campy cassette.
  19. .....Drool....., is that an FSA crankset MuX
  20. From experience I reckon that doing core excercises are one of the best ways to increase your riding. My balance and breathing have greatly improved as has my overall endurance, all of which help on those long grueling climbs. I also find that a bit of running, twice a week, helps. It just gets that natural spring back into your legs. I do 250 crunches every (well nearly every) morning as well as pushups. I also do full core workout 3 to 4 times a week, PM for it of you are interested.
  21. Hi Kent, Welcome to the hub. Look mate you can go about this two ways. You can either go to a dietician, pretty pricey, or do it your self. I just eat healthly and sensibly. 5 small meals a day, lots of veg and plant based proteins, ie Soya, nuts, lentils, etc. When I do interval training I add lots of eggs, cheese and chicken to get the extra protein needed. Things to cut out are obviously sugar, processed foods and sauces. Here would be a typical eating day for me Post ride meal, 04:00 am - 3/4 cup of Greek Yoghurt and a piece of fruit. Breakfast, 07:30(ish) am - 2 scrambled eggs on some health bread, toasted Elvens's, 11:00 am - 2 pieces of fruit Lunch, 01:00 pm - Can of Tuna or a chicken breast with a baked potato/health bread and loads of green stuff. Tea 03:30 pm - 1 piece of fruit Supper 07:30 pm - Generally a small amount of what ever is going, normally I just add some salad to it. The 2 key principles, I think, are to 1- Eat everything in moderation, 2- Drink at least 2 litres of water a day. I am no dietician myself but I reckon that if you eat like that then you be super lean and strong in no time, providing you train of course :-)
  22. And yes I know I spelt "weather" wrong as well, whether, there all happy
  23. I shall soon(ish) be by some training wheels for my TCR and just wanted to double check weather or not a shimano freehub and cassette assembly will work on a Chorus groupset. Also anybody out there got anything to sell me, was thinking of about 1400 bucks which will get me some Aksyriums off CWC. Just thought I'd check here first.
  24. Very illuminating, took me a few reads though
