I agree, why even have it there? If it was for safety, then why remove it... surely safety would not reduced in exchange for nice video/photos right?

That said, what a mamparra not to make sure that you know what is coming.

They have the ramp in practice so that you can safely determine how fast you have to hit the take off to reach the landing. If you too slow, you land on the ramp without crashing.

  2. Hi Vetplant

This is not a great example because in terms of the alienation of land act, agreements for the sale of immovable property have to be in writing and signed.  In your example, the estate agent will possibly claim commission if you refuse to sell at R2 bar and you  subsequently don't sell.

Dumb question. Is there a correlation between this deal and what happens in the Housing market?

    Scenario:

I advertise my house for R2Mil with an estate agent. On the first Show Day there are 5 families that love the place and they all want to make an offer.

Now I realize that the market is very hot for my property and I could have gotten more.

Can one of the families take me to court for not accepting their R2Mil Cash offer?

My thinking is that the purchaser makes an offer and the seller ALWAYS has the option of not taking the offer? Even if the offer is above the asking price?

  3. thats the problem these days. seems like a lot of bike shops open up for the owner and employees to get stuff at cost price

I don't know if you are correct ,but I certainly think many shops are staffed by people that just want a job from 8 to 5. They don't necessarily have any passion for the job, nor do they take any pride in their work.

  4. Thought it appropriate to publicly thank Knipe Racing for exceptionally good service last Friday. My daughter (14) went down for the Bloemendal SA Cup. At practice on Friday morning she came up short on a gap jump and cracked the rear rim. It required a new rim, rebuild and new tyre. We live in Durban, so when my wife called with the news, I tried calling the bigger bike shops in the area.

They, understandably, indicated that even if they had a spare rim, did not have the capacity to re-build the wheel before the race.

My wife phoned and said a local had suggested that we try "Knife Racing". I googled the name and guessed that she meant "Knipe". We were blown away by the willingness to help. The work was done professionally, efficiently and enthusiastically. I know that my daughter's friend from Kzn had a similar issue and she was also helped. Apparently they worked on her bike until 7pm Friday night.  Honestly, kudos to Louis and his team. If any lbs deserves to succeed its yours.

  5. The headline seems to be very unfair. I read a summary of the judgment. He has been banned because he told athletes not to declare a substance ( L-Carnitine ) , which they injected. He thought the injections were illegal. They were not and the substance is not banned. He rubbed testosterone powder onto his children. And an assistant coach took more than the recommended dose of L Carnitine. There is no evidence he doped any athlete.Perhaps reading the full judgment will shed more light on his wrongdoing.

  6. flying out Wednesday until the 2nd TT and fly home the 4th.

Can really say I am excited for this Tour, more so than the TDF. Route is great, they start racing as said on day 2 and the racing is always solid here.

After TDF there were some stories about the team having nutrition / hydration issues with an untested ( by the team ) sponsor product. Can you tell us anything about this and whether the issue is resolved ?

  7. Great UCI XC racing this past weekend, one thing I do not understand is why Allen Hartherly not racing under 23's?

He will do much better there than what he is currently in the Elite race!

I know he is trying his best to stick to  top guns but face it, his age category will suite him much better.

At least he would have gotten the chance to win a World cup series in under 23.

Every time he races with UCI elites, he manages to stay in touch for few laps then drops back due to high pace.

Then when he has matured enough or progressed to be able to race at that level we will be supporting him.

Great to see him trying his best!!!

Time flies. He is no longer u23.
