  1. i have stopped doing races and bought myself a trailbike so all this license, tags, entryfee etc things are no longer in my mind.I now just ride my new KHS mtb and enjoy riding with some friends.
  2. went in there once and never again.asked price on a new bike as no prices on the bikes.one oke asks another and then they decided to have an argument as to the correct price.while this was ongoing for about 5 min i just left.on my way out there was some promotional material as to the up and coming epic.the oke stopped his argument about the bike price and told me the promo material was free if you bought something in the shop otherwise i had to pay R30.they have never seen me again and never will.
  3. if all goes well my new KHS will be in my garage this weekend.give me a shout as i am going to get rid of my mongoose cannaan elite within the next week or two.
  4. sorry for the slip of the finger .should have been KHS in the topic.
  5. i will be there with my son.he has only seen the dome from outside and i used to tell him it is where the aliens landed.time to show him i lied.

  9. hobart tasmania.very cold
  10. the one that works for you at the price you can afford is normally the best.
  11. well never mind what you wear you will still be advertising even if only "made in china".i sort of look for the clothes that works for me and then shop for the best price and presto.
  12. one of the better things to come out of afr/eng household.afr father from uniondale and eng mother from a convant school.going to the NGK in the mornings and the Methodist the evenings.playing rugby with some mates and surfing with the dudes on other days.going to dual medium school and then grad from UCT.In short i said that being in posession just the abreviated way of talking and the definition is being in posession of goods presumend to be stolen without having a reasonable explanation for the posession constitutes the offence.
  13. being in possession of stolen goods is just a short way of describing this crime.whether someone is guilty of the offence or not should be judged on the definition being:"iemand wat in besit gevind word van ander goed as .....ten opsigte waarvan daar 'n redelike verdenking bestaan dat dit gesteelde goedere is en wat nie in staat is om voldoende rekenskap van sodanige besit te gee nie,is aan 'n misdryf skuldig en by skuldigbevinding strafbaar met die straf wat by 'n veroordeling weens diefstal opgele kan word."All these elements needs to be prooved and so the mere fact that you are in possession of stolen goods does not make you guilty of any offence.I do not choose either side as I do not have all the facts but use it don'tuse it.
  14. did this race last year.after all the cold and mud of day one i now go out in any weather with the mantra of i have been through worse.lekker ride and henco and the team organized it very well.beautiful scenery and too much beer was the way to go last year for me.
  15. just get a new second hand one on the hub.
  16. i inform my fellow riders that i am just trying to hang on and cannot pull at the front.the bulging eyeballs normally is a sure sign i am not bluffing.i will not contest any sprints.
  17. if you owe the bank a dollar it is your problem ,but if you owe them millions of dollars it is their problem.(rockefeller) i do not like banks.
  18. if i get 1500km from a set of pads i would not care at all how they look.
  19. busy charging the lights for this one.is it 21h00 already?
  20. back from tassie with way too much brown ale down the pie hole.riding was a blast with mount wellington in -6 degrees and snow included.(the jack daniels honey flavour took care of the cpold after some tasmanian squid and salmon).for anyone going there the north south track, pipeline track, glenorchy mtb park and clarens mtb park is cool but the mnt wellington ride and north south track takes the cake.we were the only people(poephol) going up the mount on mtb and all cars coming down the tar rode had snowmen on the bonnets.
  21. contact details for ct?
  22. when and if you decide to take the cleats off ie clean them adjust them put new ones in , do make sure that you affix them the right side forward.ask my friend who told me that these new cleats are very difficult to get into the pedals one morning.when we stopped in jonkershoek halfway into the route he tried to unclip.ended up like a tortoise on his back still attached to the bike.after a few minutes of wriggling around, still attached to the pedals,we decided to take off his shoes.after hammering with a rock the one shoe came off and there was the problem.time pedals with the new cleat the wrong way round.was still fun. short answer will be set the tension low in the beginning and tighten as you become more proficient at clipping unclipping.it becomes a natural movement after a while.
  23. was there not a picture of our friend juju in cyclelab checking out bikes awhile ago? maybe all these e toll things will now be reopened as bicycle lanes.
  24. i am also on a mongoose.checked everything as the source of the squeaks but in the end it was my knees.i guess it is a process to determine where the sounds come from, but if i were you i would strip the bike and reassemble with lube in the right places and tightening of everything.if that does not take care of things at least you know your bike better and just live with it..
  25. i would not like to sit on that, but then again you could use it in the garden as a pick.
