  1. We were saying this while watching the 21k world champs the other day. What an absolute privilege it would be to spend a week just watching training in the Rift Valley, or I don't know where Ethiopian and Ugandan runners specifically live but just imagine! Diet, training, living, the lot. I've read about it but it would be super cool to see. (and then a week in Boulder, Portland or the UK and see the polar opposite I imagine)
  2. Put mashed potato in a wrap. in a ziplock or foil or whatever else.
  3. I'll stop filling up the other thread with my rubbish.. Heres a real beaut on the go. Big Dogs Backyard Ultra. And whats been really cool is they've made it an international virtual affair this year. Each country puts up a couple freaks, live streams etc it, and they run a 6 point something km loop every hour until 1 person is left, everyone else is basically a DNF. There are currently 4 people left I think, Courtney Dauwalter who came second last year, and another US chap Harvey Lewis, Karel Sabbe who is looking embarrassingly fresh, and another Belgian Geerts Merijn. They've all just headed out for lap 68 (which was actually the winning total last year) which means they've run about 450kms in 67 hours. The last guy who dropped out was Mexican. 64 hours, 420 odd kms, in home made sandals, obviously.
  4. Sorry, I missed that, once more?
  5. So thats actually what I did the first time. But through my own measuring, stupidity or whatever I ended up with the size shoe that was exactly the size of my foot. So zero free space in the shoe, and that obviously wasn't going to work. I sold them surprisingly easily on le hub and thats why I went to Dunkeld - to try on a half size and a full size larger. They had an odd assortment of models but I could work out what I needed, and thats when they said listen we'll just order it for you. And after using up some of their time I just felt obliged. I've actually just now ordered through Bont. They look perhaps even better for my super wide feet. So, 4 - 5 weeks plus shipping time I shall return to this thread.
  6. Heres NOT a picture of my new shoes. Mini-rant... Beginning of August I ordered Lake shoes from Dunkeld Cycles. They said they'd contact me when the order was placed. Nothing. Middle Aug I phoned them - 'oh sorry I thought x got hold of you (which is code for we've done nothing), we'll call you with an update.' Nothing. September I call them. They're having problems with the suppliers. Will call back with an update. Nothing. 2 weeks ago I call them. 'Not sure, will call me right back with my order update.' Nothing. Yesterday I call again. 'Oh ja 3 or 4 weeks ago the South African supplier blew up so all orders were cancelled. I can't believe no one called you.' Customer service, who needs it. Pathetic.
  7. I haven't actively bought milk for probably twenty years. My wife still enjoys the odd cereal every now and then but the stuff is almost never in our house. It wasn't initially an animal thing for me but it's become more of an easy sell now that I'm paying more attention to the whole thing. However, we bought oat milk the other day for the wife's smoothies. And I must say it's quite delicious. I'm surprised how creamy you can make whatever-it-is squeezed out of oats. Well worth a try.
  8. Why do we still need these okes on bicycles at every race?
  9. Another world record! Ladies 21km, 1:05:16 from Jepchirchir. a good run from Xaba too - another 1:09 from her. Guys about to start
  10. To be fair our mates Tusker is also 25 sticks, a mere single stage event too. Obviously the charity element changes it.
  11. We did this 3 years ago. It was expensive, but I don't remember it being this expensive. Very cool couple days though
  12. Noob question: when selecting your race category, A - D, where it shows you levels of w/kg, is that based off your FTP, or 5 min avg, or what?
  13. There was a Wilier too, with that extended fork
  14. I can't wait to see that thing on a track
  15. Pretty cool, and it breaks down better because of that new fork/steerer, fits into a travel box almost the length of a wheel.
  16. Caught a glimpse of the new Mini GP today. The oversized rear wing looked pretty cool, but the flared arches that aren't actually arches, more like side-aero-trim, looked kitsch as hell. (This is obv not my photo, just to give an idea of what I'm talking about...)

    Cricket......

Saw a tweet that Anrich Nortje bowled the fastest ball in IPL history - 156.2 km/h Not bad
  18. Is it a problem this pops into my head every time I go downhill?
  19. How tight should a skewer be?
  20. The whole of Europe is seems to be announcing various re-lockdown measures this week. Cases are really ramping up. Methinks this is very near the end of our cycling foray for the year Its just not reasonable anymore.
  21. Why did Cav pull his bike number off near the end?
  22. Ackermann got the boot. Shame Coquard was busy changing in the bus and he had to jump on his bike to get on the podium hahaha no idea
  23. Yip. Chopped him badly
