I agree with you on Omnico. When i shop at my LBS, i almost always buy Omnico related products where i can. In fairness to Shimano (i think it Cool Heat) they have sharpened there pencil big time in the last few months.

What are the pro's vs con's of wire bead tyres? I know they are heavier and cheaper, but apparently last longer for training? why is this?

i was in the UK last year. Specialized bottle cages at Evans cycles (big retailer) 8 pounds.... cheapest i'v seen them here = R 235-R 275. Specialized long fingered gloves 24 pounds.... cheapest here R460 - R500 plus...!!!??? Butt rogering on Specialized goods in SA.

JB, please do me a favour. Go to your workshop, take a stainless spoke, cut the "J" off. Stick the spoke in a vice and tighten just enough to grip it, but not crush it. take a nipple and spend some time with a spoke spanner. half turn forward, then come back.... bit by bit. Patiently... I'v got Easton EA70 wheels which i broke a spoke on, as i'm sure you know they are staright spokes. Omnico were out of stock of spokes... but i couldnt wait.. must train!!! i did this in desperation, and 6 weeks later the wheels is still true and spoke holding up... SO MissionS just try it if you want to ride your bike.

i think it your skewers.... take your wheels off, put some lube on your skewer shafts and drop outs.

you can cut yout own thread onto it by forcing a nipple. take a nipple and force thread it onto the spoke, then remove it and fit the spoke with a new nipple.

Q20 and WD40 are better at cleaning / prserving metal surfaces, as well as light lubricating/ releasing. dont spray it where there should be grease... it will wash the grease out and leave a grinding liquid!!

There are 2 pipelines. There is a petrol pipe running south of durban and up through tala valley area. But i'm sure the one running down the N3 and through cato ridge area is a water pipe? i would love to know the details, probably on durban.gov website?? i'll look!

Big water projects are under way here in KZN. Construction of a big dam on the Mooi river starts in january between Nottingham road and Mooi river. and there is that big pipeline thats been layed over the last year or so. I dont know where from and where to though?

i'm vet 35 -39 and have raced and finished at the sharp end of VB and VA most races (tour durban bundles 30 - 39 as VA). i looked on Cyclelab seeding and dont see myself there anymore? Where does this start me next year?? I dont race much outside KZN, so does this penalized my seeding? I finished tour durban and Amashova in 2.32 and 2.39 respectively.... i'm struggling to come to terms with open bunches!!!! surely Cat 2, but no seeding???
