I have a Fox 29er RL fork and the other day a fair amount of oil came out of the left stanction seal? i cleaned up the mess and has been working fine since then, no more oil has appeared? Do i need to worry? Also, i let a bit of air out of the fork yesterday and some greenish coloured oil came out the valve? is all this normal? Fork seems to work fine...

Debating between these 2 bikes?? Priced about the same.. The Cannondale 29er flash 1 has some wow factor with its Lefty fork, SAVE seatstays.. bla bla.. But mixmatch specing with Sram X7/X9/FSA crank (2x10) and Avid elexir R brakes?? Also "Bicycling mag" review say lefty needs TLC??? GT Zaskar 29er pro has full X9 (2 X 10) spec, no mix match, Formula RX brakes, Fox fork..... So component spec better, but???? I'm currently on a Giant ETC 29er.... Anybody had experience in comparing the ride between all these bikes.

Using loctite also achieves this as it acts as a lubricant to the threads while wet and being torqued...

Loctite 243.... it medium strength.... developed for threadlocking in applications that need to be disasembled with hand tools!!!! otherwise JB's advice is normally sound!!!

if i bought the glasses, how much would a set of spare clear lenses cost? I'm not too keen on Combo pack 3 lenses.

The Jagwire Ripcord sealed kits come with awesome ones. CWC got good prices i think?

What will eventually happen is, all the manufacturers will make 600 gram frames and then prove they are safe and strong and slowly UCI will review there low weight restrictions. In the meantime it allows pro's to put heavy power meters etc. on there bikes and still be 6.8kg.

is your current setup 9 speed or 10 speed?

I'v put anthem 29er (ones with DT swiss rear hub) stock wheels on my XTC hardtail. i weighted them on the same scale, next to american classic 29er tubeless, in the shop. The Anthem wheels were exactly 90 grams heavier. On that scale the AC's were 1700g and the anthem wheels 1790g.

mankind has to keep trying new things, test the boundries, invent..... 25 years ago the mtb owes were probably locked in debate over whether mtb's need suspension forks??? i'm glad there is constant change, cause that old bridgestone i used to ride to school on was crap compared to my current bike!!!! which happens to be a 29er!!!

I did karkloof on my XTC aswell.... ass hasnt been that sore since get whipped 6 of the best at school.... if you owes are old enough to remember those days!!!!, actually since 2 weeks before at the Inanda SA champs marathon!! bike is much softer then my 26 hardtail though... I'll be in the kamberg for 4 days, so definately be sneeking in some rides between family time!!!

Strangely, i'v noticed in the last year that there has been bit of a roll reversal...... Now days, the roadies are a "happy go lucky" smily kind of person..... and the mtb owes just glare at you, like they thinking... "what you doing on my trail??!!!!"

Take a day to also ride the "Sani Spoor" trails. They are awsome, and are the other side of underbarg on the Drak Gardens road.
