  1. Thanks Dangle. Are you using them as everyday wheels, or do you train/race on different wheels? I used to train/race on different wheels, but got sick and tired on managing 2 sealant tubless setups... so just want an awesome reliable do everything wheel....
  2. Its been a month or so, anybody got any further experience with the durability of the AM 29er race wheels. Im also concerned about the light weight?
  3. Froome doesnt have the stress of a 10million euro team built around him, the stress of the yellow jersey on his shoulders and the public pressure on him. Without this stress he is finding himselt in a dominant situation. They are an amazingly strong team, he must enjoy it. From next year he will probably have all those responsibilties on HIS shoulders and lets see how he performs then. Will he have a team as strong around him? Im desperate to see him win, but its going to be tough in future years.... this is the year!!
  4. maybe we will get lucky and Wiggins will crash out..... leaving Froome to take down the Aussie!!...
  5. After watching that press confrerence youtube clip, i can say i am now bit of a Wiggins fan. I was always a bit iritable with his surlly demeanour, but enjoyed his responce to those dumbasses..
  6. I must say.... I'v been a bit on the fence re. Cav... But after seeing the clip on Supercycling last night, where he was in a press conference discussing sport and doping, I now have new respect for him.... Gutsy guy on and off the bike..
  7. I have bit of a wheels fetish!.. just cant help myself. So i'v been through a few sets and can say the classic custom 32 spoke with box section rims (ie. MAvic open pro's) definetly warm my heart!! BUT, unless someone like Johan builds them they can also be a head ache. If they are poorly built they will keep going out of true. Upside to them is they are easy and cheap to maintain, But in saying that, i'v been riding some Mavic Ksyrium Elites for a year or so and they are fit and forget wheels.
  8. Is there a casino near by? Down here in KZN you give casino's a wide birth first thing in the morning!!!
  9. OF its a DT Swiss hub , A Little grease does the trick...
  10. Speaking of old bikes.... i do alot of business with Transnet and at the workshops all over the country there all some classics to be seen. All the Transnet works facilities are huge flat areas, so everyone moves about on bikes. Iv seen plenty old Bomber, Le turbo's, Peugeots, Hansom's, DHC, Alpina's,
  11. Thanks, that was awesome.... Makes Susan Boyle's story seem nowhere!!!
  12. You gonna foil their plans....
  13. Scott nothing to do with you......
  14. Puncheur... i ask the same question... When will the purchasing ever end??? Its just crazy what i force myself to buy!!! Just lately:- Formula brakes X0 cranks Maxxis Ikon tyres Magic shine light Giordana bibs...... Oh... almost forgot Giro Code shoes?? Lets not talk about the road bike!!
  15. just out of interest, where did you get the American Classic hubs? which ones are they, and how much$$?
  16. im rooting for Cadel all the way through July.... I like his positive racing style. You have to make it happen, knowone is going to do it for you... same like how he chased Andy that day in the mountains last year when AS made that suicidal attack. Ironically, Cadel used to be famous for his "following" and "sit and wait tactics"...
  17. my new Commencal frame is BB30.. i fitted one of the sram adaptors, works perfectly. Running my GXP crank. I have no real experience with BB30, but im just not convinced its the way to go. Prefer pressfit or threaded type still..

    GXP BB

Theres nothing wrong with GXP BB's..... except, on the driveside there is a "top hat" style plastic seal cap that goes between the crank and bearing. This presses into the the ID of the bearing and up agianst the rubber seals of the bearing. it has a small lip that the crank spindle holds tight in the bearing, but that whole cap can work its way out. it then leaves the cranks with a little bit of play, but worse, it leaves the bearing exposed... hense the shortened life. When you fit the BB. Clean the ID of the bearing on the drive side with alcohol, put a tiny drop of superglue and slip the plastic cap in..... now it cant work its way out and the bearings stay sealed.... BTW.... all this aplies to the newer "gutterseal" type GXP... i have no experience with earlier ones...!!
  19. I'm not a huge Wigins fan, find him bland, boring and typically English, BUT i think he's the man to beat...... He's pretty much winning everything Cuddles won in the TDF build up last year.... Looks to be riding at a different level to the rest of the TDF gc contenders.. Seems to be the ultimate alrounder. He can smoke the owes 4km's around a track, win a 50km TT, and climb with the best... This is his year... Barring the million variables and diasters that cycling throws at you!!!
  20. Ya, they are tight to engage for a while. Make sure the tension Setting is on the looser setting. There is a little cam type barrel with two tensions on it. The other tip with Time RXS is position the cleats right. Make sure when your foot is in its most comfortable position there is no spring tension trying to centre your cleat in the pedal. This way you get the right angle of release when unclipping. If the cleat is positioned in too much you unclip with too little angle and can be a danger in a sprint.
  21. Where can i get an inexpensive 29er hardtail with rigid fork, maybe 1x10 gearing? I would also be happy to build it up. I live in a seriously hilly area and spend alot of time training the tar hills on my MTB, but am tired of wearing down my tires and race bike in general. would love a simple 29er with an oily chain for this training??
  22. Cast a sinker, hit a cuzzin....
  23. One day.. fishen debben doc, with one white and one black soc!!!

    Justice!

No justice for the poor guy who hit him....
  25. The buzzing noise on the front is just the little round holes in the disc going throught the caliper. If the rear isnt squeeling they fine. My rear brake also makes a strange noise, but only at low speed. I'v had Hayes, Two sets of Avids, and now formula RX and the Formula's are superb..
