  1. Not a great range of Canyon road bikes available on their website.
  2. What VPN are you guys using to access full service on GCN+? Watching on my phone is not going to work, it's a pain.
  3. Just received a shirt and undershirt from Vye. The size small shirt fits to size. The size large undershirt looks like a crop-top, not quite sure about the sizing here but its way off.
  4. Imagine you had just spent close to R200k on the Venge a few months ago, how disappointed are you feeling right now?
  5. Gone through a lot of different brand over the years but the ones that I always go back to are the ASSOS MILLE and the Cuore but both for different reasons. If you could put the Assos chamois into the Cuore Bib / Lycra, you would have the perfect set of bibs.
  6. I have watched a lot of Crossfit over the years as I really enjoy it. I couldn't do half the stuff these guys do and its really cool to watch. I also admire their mental abilities. I have also wondered about the whole "Fittest on Earth" statement but there would be no real way to tell in my opinion. Matt Fraser can't swim, run or bike as fast I can but if he was dedicated to training for those 3 events I can almost guarantee you he wouldn't be to far behind in almost no time. In 2015, Matt came 2nd in the games behind Froning and one of his biggest weaknesses was his run where he was almost stone last. The very next year, he won the run with a smile on his face. He took the defeat as a learning and came back faster then everybody else. He is an amazing athlete. Toomey used to run track when she was younger, you can see that by her running performances. Taking into consideration what the top level crossfit athletes do in prep for the games and the events they actually compete in, I would be very close to saying the Fraser or Toomey are the most all-rounded athletes on the planet because of the type of stuff they do. They are much more then just a person who can lift heavy weights as the competitions have evolved so much. Matt and Tia have just evolved with it and stayed on top for a long time now. They have been adding a lot more cardio based workouts to the games and you can see that there are a lot less "big boys" making the final cut as they simply cannot keep up anymore. Fittest on Earth? Not so sure as that would be relative to what you are comparing yourself against in a particular code.
  7. Monkey see, monkey do. These youngsters are seeing their idols do this and get away with it so why wouldn't they try it? The risks of being caught are low and punishment isn't much. The example needs to be set at the top. That "top SA sprinter" that was mentioned above should never have been allowed back into any sport. Even at his age now he still somehow wins just about everything and gets placed into teams every year. Do the sponsors not research who they are giving their money away to anymore?
  8. EBikes had their own category at the Berg100 this past weekend.
  9. No, keep you motorbikes off the cycling trails. They are not bicycles.
  10. I am based in Umhlanga so its pretty much the same driving distance between Holla and Giba. 9 times out 10, I land up choosing Giba. If you want to put a huge smile on your face, those trails dont disappoint and you can stitch pieces of trail together if you know where you are going to make and amazing ride. I am an XC rider at heart and love throwing in some jumps, drops and rock gardens, Giba has all of this and so much more. I have been riding here since before it officially opened to the public in 2007/2008. Much of the same trail network still exists to this day.
  11. I got a new toy a while back but haven't had a chance to share it yet. Lapierre Xelius SL Frameset built up with Shimano Ultegra R8000 groupset and Campy Eurus wheelset for training and Enve wheelset for race day. No bike I have ever owned has ridden as well as this. It climbs like nothing else! Thanks to Over The Bars Cycles in Durban North for the build!
  12. Have had a RR on my bike now for close on 4 years and still perfect. Would assume it depends on the conditions you ride in. I ride Giba in KZN which is smooth and manicured so not much to wear the tyre beside locking the brake from time to time.
  13. She has become a professional boxer now. https://carmenbuchacher.com/athlete-history/
  14. Extract taken from an article on her: "“I want to work hard, play fair and maintain a good social responsibility.”" Funny how none of that was true... Link: https://inthebunch.co.za/2018/01/carmen-buchacher-determined-to-shine-for-team-dormakaba-sa/
  15. Nic is actually doing some decals for my road wheels at the moment, didnt even realise he could do full wraps?
  16. I have seen some amazing bike wraps coming out lately and have a frame I would like to try this on. Who in SA could do this and what would they cost?
  17. I would go for the Giant. Warranty claims are much better from my experience working at a LBS for a few years. I also prefer the ride of the Giant
  18. My in-laws did the 2017 race through Mark Wolff and said it was an amazing trip. Just take into considerations the cut-off times are shorter then at an Ironman event.
  19. Thanks guys, it was never crashed. Its cracked right in the center of the front vents on your forehead - very strange place to crack - almost like a weakness in that point. Didn't actually think of warranty - thanks for pointing out.
  20. Hi All, Does anybody know what the crash replacement policy is on Specialized Helmets? I bought an S-works Previal in August last year that has developed a crack under the front air-vent so need to get it replaced. Thanks in advance
  21. I use Zwift on my iPhone and stream via Apple TV onto my TV in the lounge, much easier and better then a laptop.
  22. I am interested in buying a set of carbon wheels from China. Anybody know what the duties are on these?
  23. I wonder what coach Russel White has to say about this?
  24. Funny this, a training buddy of Rourke Croeser
  25. Are they taking the piss? 2k for a tiny carbon chain guide?
