  1. I have had to many issues with Gators in the past, the sidewalls just tear to easily. They also don't work on these rims.
  2. Hi All, So to start at the beginning, I have a set of Campy Eurus 2-way fit wheels. The rims are an extremely tight fit so majority of tyres just don't work on them, especially when it comes time to change punctures on the side of the road - getting them back on the rim is an absolute mission without pinching tubes. I have been using Pirelli Velo 4s 25c on them for a while now as the bead is looser than most so the fitting is a bit easier. However, lately I keep ripping the tyres on glass and other stuff on the road and this morning was the last straw. Anybody have any ideas of what other decent options I could use here? NOTE: Not interested in tubeless or Gatorskins. Thanks in advance
  3. Had this happen on the start line of a race a while ago. The negative chamber air was leaking into the positive chamber or something like that. Also on a Reba but I have the RL model.
  4. Warranty is great but they wont have people riding their bikes if they cannot respond to quote requests.
  5. No, keep you motorbikes off the cycling trails. They are not bicycles.
  6. Both items I want are on the sale but at the same "discounted" price they have always been.
  7. Just sold my Lyne last night as I didnt really use the drop function much (going back to standard post) but i found it a really good piece of kit for the price.
  8. I stopped using them a while ago as their pricing is nowhere close to what it used to be. Not sure how much of a factor CL really was here as they have been going down for quite a while and so has the product that they stock.
  9. I have used both recently. Had a set of Shimano XT for a few years but thought I would upgrade to a set of Crank Bros Ti Candy. I used to race on the Eggbeater 4Ti so thought I would give them another shot, thinking they would have made the product better quality over the years. Worst decision ever! Crank Bros feedback: Have a spongy feeling when clipping inThey have a higher profile so it feels like the saddle needs to go up a few mm'sClipped a few rocks because of the higher profileThey squeak on the cleatsBearings seize very quicklyMore pressure on the cleatpatch on the shoeThey do shed mud very well but is it worth all the above hassle? After 3 months, I went back to my old XT's and sold the Candy's.
  10. I am the same as you Grant, I refuse to enter any events that take part in this area of Durban. I am an avid triathlete and have not done a single Tinman, Ultra or 70.3 this year never-mind all the running events that use this stretch of coastline. Have also sent an email. I have sliced so many tires due to broken bottles on that stretch its actually crazy! 2 weeks ago our group was almost taken out twice by the same drunk driver on a Thursday morning. He managed to get his polo airborne not just once but twice over the circles and then still drove away on the M4. Something needs to be done here before one of us is killed!
  11. Gees if he gave me a PK during a race he would never have seen the light of day again! I get words being shared as we have all done this but actual physical contact is offside.
  12. Rode pieces of the route this last weekend. The section from Camperdown to Hillcrest is full of potholes and pieces of road works around the fast downhill corners so be careful.
  13. I had my ACL reconstructed 2 years ago in Durban by Dr Kevin Macintyre. Brilliant!
  14. The jump from Olympic distance Triathlon to a full marathon is massive for any athlete. It has taken Gomez and Brownlee a few years to get this transition right in the triathlon space, never mind racing a full marathon on its own, that's a whole different kettle of fish at much higher speeds. Just going from a 10km to 21km run is a big jump speed wise, the 42km is just a different league all together. Her biggest training run during tri was only 16km, now 2 years later she is racing a 42, thats huge! I think she is doing well overall, she is just used to winning the runs from her triathlon background so that is what is causing her blurred lines of success here in my opinion. Her times are good and they don't happen over night.
  15. I am still waiting for an order that was placed on 25 April. I have another 2 also sitting waiting... Used to be much quicker.

Hi All, I am looking at getting some of this kit as I love the way it looks but am unable to test fit any to see if they are as good as they look. Anybody have any reviews?
  17. I am based in Umhlanga so its pretty much the same driving distance between Holla and Giba. 9 times out 10, I land up choosing Giba. If you want to put a huge smile on your face, those trails dont disappoint and you can stitch pieces of trail together if you know where you are going to make and amazing ride. I am an XC rider at heart and love throwing in some jumps, drops and rock gardens, Giba has all of this and so much more. I have been riding here since before it officially opened to the public in 2007/2008. Much of the same trail network still exists to this day.
  18. I got a new toy a while back but haven't had a chance to share it yet. Lapierre Xelius SL Frameset built up with Shimano Ultegra R8000 groupset and Campy Eurus wheelset for training and Enve wheelset for race day. No bike I have ever owned has ridden as well as this. It climbs like nothing else! Thanks to Over The Bars Cycles in Durban North for the build!
  19. Interesting, I have a Bianchi Oltre crack in the same place and was replaced no questions asked. I also get what you are saying as it should be considered as normal riding now days but according to their warranty it is not (I never read the small print either). You here guilt in your email and thus voided warranty. Their response does suck and was quite rude but unfortunately if this is stated correctly in their warranty, there is nothing you can do about it. Was your bike not insured under all risks? If so, just claim on that and buy yourself another brand of frame. I have actually been looking at a Canyon for a while but after this I may have to think again.
  20. If you want to save weight and money is of no concern (you are running a THM crankset after all) why not go for a set of Lightweight wheels? They make a disk version now. Would think these to be significantly lighter than the Roval's you want.
  21. Have had a RR on my bike now for close on 4 years and still perfect. Would assume it depends on the conditions you ride in. I ride Giba in KZN which is smooth and manicured so not much to wear the tyre beside locking the brake from time to time.
  22. She has become a professional boxer now. https://carmenbuchacher.com/athlete-history/
  23. Extract taken from an article on her: "“I want to work hard, play fair and maintain a good social responsibility.”" Funny how none of that was true... Link: https://inthebunch.co.za/2018/01/carmen-buchacher-determined-to-shine-for-team-dormakaba-sa/
