We have a small vegetable patch and happily discovered that a few butternut plants have taken root - a gift from the compost I suppose. But there is a problem. Once the flower dies off and the small vegetable appears it seems that the baby butternut is infected where the flower dropped, they just turn brown and die. Any idea what causes this, and how could we remedy?
That comes across as a little sharp...but anyway..she stayed on a small holding near Timaru and also spent a few days travelling further south to Milford Sound, where the scale and beauty of the landscape is wonderful. Everything appears well ordered and clean, and she found the people most welcoming. On top of all of that I had the joy of a long happy chat with my lovely daughter!
My daughter is visiting us from CT, she spent a fortnight on South Island in September and showed us her pics last night. Wow, so beautiful...no surprise of course but to listen to her describe what she saw was great.
