  1. Not as impressive as some people I’ve seen riding in Rouvy 😂
  2. +1 for Rouvy. I tried Zwift and hated the game-like experience. Rouvy has really nice routes, many in 4k video and you feel like you are there. They even have Clarence Drive (Gordons Bay to Rooi Els). I like the New Zealand gravel roads or the Norwegian fjords. Previously 1 hour was my absolute max on a trainer but now I can easily do a 1.5 - 2h trainer ride.
  3. Anyone looking at doing a Group plan(up to 5 members) on Rouvy?
  4. Done many years and hours on the IDT, due to work hours and Swiss winters. Riding in the dark, freezing cold and wet weather is not fun, did a Rapha 500 challenge once in December in all sorts of *** weather, NOT AGAIN THANKS! in the past I did some + 6 hour rides on the IDT, the key to these is as below and to move around on the bike frequently alternating sitting and standing, your soft tissue area will thank you 🤩 For long rides the key is to watch something like Netflix, before Netflix and YouTube I had a portable dvd player in my training room. Rouvy has great scenery and so many different route options, but for long rides some other visual entertainment is recommended. Have fun
  5. My typical trainer rides are around 60-90 mins. I use Rouvy, so I tend to listen to audiobooks or podcasts while I ride, given that I often have nice scenery to look at. I have done a few 100km rides on the trainer. I prefer to just watch youtube or netflix for long rides.
  6. Just got the surprise of my life. I recently subscribed to Rouvy and was very chaffed they offered a 3 Family member plan under a single Annual Subscription. Total was EUR144 - in affect for 3 people. In the meantime I started doing the needful to get my wife and son ready and over the weekend set up the trainers, built PCs for them (scrap parts) ets etc. Lot of effort but enjoyed it! So I created their Rouvy Accounts and went to Rouvy website to add them to my Family plan. BAM! "We apologise for any inconvenience caused but decided to terminate the Family Plan scheme!". WTF???? So I immediately mailed them asking VERY nicely if they would be willing to do me a huge favour and add them - there was ZERO notification about their intentions!! Nothing! Zilch!! Sorry was the reply - you will have to create 3 x new subscriptions. Do the math......EUR144 x 3. That is EUR432 or 8500Ronds! Are they crazy???!!!! So I am going to cancel my subscription - no ways I am supporting them going forward!!! Checked and FulGaz offers a 2 member family plan. That is $109 for 2. As we are 3 people cycling I am still forced to go $109 x 2. That is $220 - still expensive but a LOT LESS than Rouvy. I am very disappointed in them!
  7. As the title says..... I tried rouvy running some time ago and then recently I decided to go into it again but couldn't find the running option. I tried checking their website and it says nothing about running. Even tried googling it and it seems like it never existed... Did anyone else ever use rouvy running? Does anyone know what happened to it?
  8. Howzit Wiley, Im Tech Support for Bicycle Power Trading. Yes, Rouvy has unfortunately begun removing compatibility for these bikes from the app, we assume this is to make space for the new Direct Drive trainers. We have been fighting this issue with Rouvy for well over a year as there is no other software we are aware of that can work with the automatic resistance control. What we have had to do is "Downgrade" the IC400 to a manual adjuster. This will allow you to connect the rear hub to any training app as a Powermeter/Cadence meter and you will need to manually adjust the resistance depending on the watts you need to put out. We are trying to work with Saris to integrate the IC functionality into their Saris Utility App but that could take some time to complete. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions, Thanks! George Bicycle Power Trading Technical Support
  9. Good morning Hubland, One more sleep until Friday, yay! I've always been interested in riding real routes indoor. Yeah sure, call me lame, call me whatever you like, but I think it's a pretty useful training tool. I don't live anywhere near CPT, but what if I want to ride up Chappies? Anyway, I've heard of software called Rouvy where, naturally, for a fee you can sign up and it gives you the opportunity to do these kinds of rides. Who has tried it before, and does it work? Can I import rides I've done before?
  10. Hi @lizan Saw that - but my view has not changed. They are ridiculously expensive. Just to compare: Rouvy Plan for two (duo): $199/year (if you take the "cheaper" annual package). Approx R3800 Fulgaz: Plan for two (also cheaper annual package): $109. Approx R2048 And FulGaz video quality exponentially better (4k streaming (FulGaz) vs 1080P streaming (Rouvy)) Fulfaz you download rides via normal webpage. Rouvy only via their app and I have given up as it crashes 4/5 times (start over required) and is very slow. I call that quite a difference. Nope - my Rouvy subscription remains cancelled.
  11. Sorry to dredge this topic back from 2018... I'm the pleb trying to revive my old Cycleops pro 400... The app I previously used on my iPhone (Rouvy Mobile), sadly does not work anymore - the app, which used to work very well back in lockdown, no longer works. It does still connect, but becomes totally unusable as soon as you enter the "Workout". Anyone out there still using this trainer? If so, what app? Thanks
  12. Many if not most other platforms do offer group rides, events etc. But yes, none comes close to the sheer rider numbers of Zwift. Although I still find Zwift output numbers to be quite different than other platforms. On many group rides doing 3.5watts - 4 watts/kg, always seeing riders disappear in the distance. Struggle to see how they get to that performance. Also compared to FulGaz/Rouvy at the same settings I can easily on Zwift average 5km/h faster on a flat route compared to FulGaz/Rouvy. Perhaps I am just imagening things - but Zwift seems "easier".
  13. Not sure if you are still angry with Rouvy and/or found a better platform for yourself. Just saying that Rouvy just introduced new family subscriptions - two accounts for 19.99EUR/months, or 5 accounts for 32.99 EUR/month which can give you quite significant savings if you find some friends to join as well. no need to be all located in one "living room", not even the same country.
  14. For those that are interested there is a Rouvy group ride tomorrow . (1) Rouvy Group Ride - Misty Cliffs of Africa! | Facebook
  15. It’s possible in Rouvy, as I recall there is an option where you can choose to ride with companions (not other real life people) but a computer generated image of other riders who circulate around you just like in a bunch, and you can choose to benefit from drafting. I think there is also the option to time trial against a cgi “bot”
  16. I am privileged to live in an area where I can get a 30km loop on gravel in and I know most the laborers farmers along the way. So for training sake I ride alone a lot. It is either rouvy on the trainer or the dirt. Weekends and longer rides I have some very well positioned routes that are also fairly safe. Running it is the same, luckily I have neighboring farms to run so I can get a good 10km in without leaving a private farm now. Riding singletrack is not somethign I need to have. 90% of gauteng singletrack is flat winding trash to try squeeze extra km's on a small property. all it does is make strava to look like I threw up spaghetti. Doing true te4chnical riding alone just adds risk. It also helps with my schedule, with a baby in the house, I either go stoopid early or take a lunch time nap gap. I have also planned routes around avoiding potential ambush areas, I prefer wide open dirt roads where you can see anyone coming from at least 5-10m. Safety tracking wise- Whatsapp live location is very under rated. You no doubt have your phone anyway. The Mrs enjoys the convenience. I send her a link as I leave the house so she also knows when I started running/riding.
  17. https://my.rouvy.com/group-ride/live/54250?fbclid=IwAR220rrmkuDNZ3xwGH_k-GqTHZawpwFDmKwE9Dv1gu8IiUzqLclI5o3SFlo for those who want to do a group ride on Rouvy here is on on saturday morning .
  18. The Rouvy family plan is still in place, you should have kept it, the current annual subs are for new members only. And then you wait for Black Friday or other annual specials - I paid USD 109 for my current annual subs which includes 2 additional family members using the BF promo code in November even though I only paid in April 2023. I don't download videos as it takes time, streaming work exceptionally well (my FTH line is 25mbps) even with 50 plus riders on same video.
  19. I used to be a big Rouvy and Zwift fan. But mywoosh being free makes it a no brainer for me. I only ever do workouts anyway. The massive updates aren't an issue for me. I just start the app during the day and download the updates long before my workout. I put youtube on my TV and run the app on my laptop and off I go. If I want to pretend to be riding Alp d Huez during my workout I'll find a POV vid of a guy riding it. Riding indoors still sucks BIG TIME tho.
  20. I am trying to switch over to mywhoosh and they are trying my patience with HUGE updates but works most of the time and it is free. I used to be on Rouvy(until the family sharing feature fell away), it will work out cheaper than Zwift if My wife and I use it during winter time.
  21. I am sure this is a boring question that had been asked before. If “yes” just refer me to some links – thanx. Using a Saris H3.
  22. Crazy interesting how far the technology is going. I wonder how my Rouvy rides would feel using these trainers.
  23. Suggested start time still to be confirmed 31 March 2020 (Tuesday) 16H30 Race up the Wall (Mur de Huy) 13.6 km Avg Grade 1% Max Grade 24%
  24. They discontinued it last year: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rouvy/comments/sze36e/rouvy_statement_on_the_discontinued_editor/ The statement does mention something about creating it from the Activity Detail page, but my outside rides do not sync to Rouvy so I cannot check.
  25. It seems the latest release of Rouvy does not allow you to create or upload your own routes. I was able to do that with their Virtual Route editor in 2019. Can't seem to find the option in the new version of Rouvy.
