DownhillingKing Posted April 27, 2011 Share Mine is in bits and pieces, scattered al over I have the blue Cotic BFe frame, but it is going to be swapped for an orange Soul - won this at some very silly but cool race B) Wheels, handlebar, seatpost and grips (Actually thinking that a brown leather(?) seat and leather grips might actually be a nice touch!): Still looking for a rigid white fork though..... Thinking it will be a bit too white/orange and that it'll need some colour various bits and bobs might turn up in green, including the metal trimmings on the brake hose, etc The only orange brakes I can find (overseas naturally!) - maybe go ovesize on these? 203 / 180? Would love for the rear callipers to be white Not so sure about a coloured chain though? Still on the lookout for a set of cranks that will blend in with the technicolour circus Why don't you go for a half link chain?
divernick Posted June 20, 2011 Share My stem on my SS mtb that I sprayed bronze like my frame started to look a bit shabby, with the spraypaint chipping off where the top cap tightened down - so I took off the stem, stripped the paint and gave it a nice brushed ali finish. Now, where do I find the time to do the same to the frame????

Thumper Posted June 20, 2011 Share so so so sexy! no chain tensioner? what gears front and back? I'm using 32/16 and it's starting to skip so figure I need a tensioner. It uses and eccnetric BB to tension the chain, love the clean look of not having to run a tensioner at the back. Also get your hands on a halflink chain. It sorted out the issues i had with my chain jumping off over the rough stuff. At the moment im running a 34/16 which seems to work well as long as there arent too many long flat sections. Rubel Posted June 20, 2011 Share I am riding the 70km Nissan Hazeldean race this weekend. It will be my first race on a SS and as the route is quite flat am wondering what gear ratio to use? Are any of you SS okes doing the race and able to shead some light on the correct gear ratio?

divernick Posted June 21, 2011 Share Hey, tell us how you stripped that frame so nicely and whether or not you clearcoated it. Nice work by the way - bike turned out great - now go ride it!

Kona Kula Posted July 4, 2011 Share Finally I have completed my project. Well... sort of. Still need grips and a working fron brake. But for now its quite fun riding with just the back brake. Judy also makes it feel like a rigid up front.
