Perez has shown that the car has potential. Not unexpected seeing that it very closely resembles the Merc W10. Vettel in the AM01/W11 next year will be a regular podium contender, haha.

Jokes aside, I'm also hoping Vettel finds his old magic and that Aston Martin provide the car for him to show he hasn't lost what made him a 4 time champ. This last season has been tough on Vettel, and Ferrari haven't treated him well in his last season. He'd probably be involved in a battle for "best of the rest" 4th place in 2021 though, along with Danny Ric and Norris. Who knows, maybe Perez in a Red Bull if he gets the contract, along with Alonso in an improved Renault will also make that 4th place a good fight.

As a long time Vettel fan, I hope Racing Point / Aston Martin get there act together quickly next year so that he can get his motivation back and kick some pommy ass, even if it is with a pommy car ...   :whistling:

It was on Charles's helmet I believe, he wore it in tribute.

I think they did a post race helmet swap.

Seb also did a song for the team :)

There were a couple of years where I didn't follow F1 (when SABC stopped broadcasting). Would have been nice to see Vettel's championships. Pity he didn't have a better car with Ferrari, I think he would have had more championships.

Thats definitely sebs helmet. They obviously did a swop post race. Charles’ tribute helmet looked the same but had the Monegasque flag on it in those stripes instead of the German one.

I remember the commentators mentioning that flag  :)

Fun fact:

Bottas has 9 wins after 4 years of driving the most dominant car in f1 history.

Verstappen has 10 wins driving the 2/3rd best car (ferrari were faster than them most of those years) for roughly the same time. (Spanish GP 2016 debut fir RB)

Puts things in perspective for mr bottas LOL.

Imagine Seb in this years Merc, next year.

Will never happen but a guy can dream......

Well he’ll be in this years merc next year? ????☺️

But yes, i hope he rediscovers some of his form, we need a competitive Vettel, as we do an Alonso, and Leclerc, Max, hopefully Danny Ric. There is a slight chance for a crazy competitive season (for p2 at least?) next year if some teams pull finger.

It has been a while since we had lots of different and hopefully competitive teams with top tier drivers occupying at least one seat.

Pps: watch HAAS morph into the official ferrari B-team come 2022. They are already moving staff over there so not to lose them due to the incoming budget cap. Also, HAAS’s deal with Ferrari re Schumacher, Simone Resta’s strategic appointment as well as the fact that their Dallara chassis contract runs out next years all points to Ferrari taking over that part of the HAAS model. I think ALFA will go away..sauber will be sauber again. Then they just need to get kimi in the ferrari b team next to mick. Bliss

Agree, this boring Merc dominance must come to an end now, lets hope we see a very competitive season next year.
