So I just noticed that I have a cut in my crossmark lust tyre. Its about 1cm long and its just next to the centre line of knobblies. It isn't leaking air yet, although it looks quite deep.

Any advice on how to repair it? Patch from the inside? sew it? with what?

Thanks for your help

Push on the sideswall so the cut open slightly, and then put the runny type superglue in it (not the gel type in the tube) and leave it. It should hold well..

had exactly the same problem after going over a ice big piece of broke glass, sewing it doesnt work as its the surface that is in contact with the groud as you ride so just wears away the stitching really quick

only thing you ca do is patch it from the inside using a nice big car patch and use some super glue in the slit to try keep the edges together (just make sure you get all the sealant off the inside of the tire where you want to put the patch otherwise it wont work and just leak)

+1 , my Conti race king is still going strong with this fix.

You also get a rubbery type epoxy, which is black and flexible. Once repaired a road tyre with it. Think it is called "Wondafix car" made by pratley.

silicone is a sealant, not a glue. so wont stay there...

patch on the inside. take out all the sealant. patch and put back on rim with normal tube to keep the pressure on evenly. dont pump it too hard as it will open the hole and the glue will set in that position. remove the next day and seal with stans (or whatever other brand) as per usual.

Ok I got two pieces of glass that has silicone between them . Do you think you can seperate them without breaking it ? Silicone is as good a glue as it is a sealant on the right surface .
