I was wondering, do I write about this or not? So i guess, my decision is yes, why not. Its the truth, nothing to hide.

I was looking for a pair of Sidi Dominators

Chris Willemse on Line Shop:

So, I went on the website of www.cwcycles.co.za , and yes, they got my size available. So I went to the shop, check on the system, and yes, its available.... till we try and find it... and guess what, they don’t have it in stock. I went home, peed-off that these guys do not keep their online stock list up to date. Sidi Dominators @ R1999

BuyCycle:

So, I decided to go the internet route and got hold of www.buycycle.co.za. I learned my lesson in the first instance, so this time, I’m going to get them to confirm they have stock and not trust the online stock list. So I got hold of Kevin. Many mails between us, but the bottom line, YES, I got lucky, they have a pair of Sidi’s, I only need to pay first. So I paid the Sidi Dominators @ R2443.52, last Friday.

First red light went up when they asked me proof of payment.

Remenber that you first have to pay before their system gives you a tax invoice. I send them the Tax Invoice and we all went on weekend.

Hie-Ha, I got a e-mail that my tracking number will be given within the next 48 hours (that would be last Sunday)

Monday went passed without anything, Thuesday went and at about 14h00 I send them a mail asking when will I get the tracking number, more importantly, when will I get the shoes.

“Oh. Sorry we don’t have it in stock” = This after Kevin confirm that they have the stock.

So, I asked my money back.

I’m still waiting after they told me I will get notification from someone that my credit card will be refunded. I haven’t seen anything yet, not even sure the status....

BUT ITS FOR FRIKKIN SURE :: www.buycycle.co .za (KEVIN) you ****** me around, and I hope every cyclist who wants to buy online, read this before they decide on you.

I send you many mails (to 4 of your staff members who at some stage e-mailed me), but no one is responding on my request to ensure I get the C/C refunded. Even if you cannot do anything about it, you still have a responsibility to keep me updated.

I found another shop, who is selling the Sidi Action 2’S (The Higher End SIDI’s) for R2149.00 delivered to my door, got confirmation that they packed it this morning and will couriered it today.

Once I receive that , I will mention the names and give them the credit if they deserve

Bottom line:

1) ON LINE Shops, no matter your prices, don’t publish stock if you don’t have it available

2) SALESMAN, Lift your arse and go check if a customer asked if you have stock

3) BUYCYCLE, Your customer service sucks.

4) If your online shop system is crap, clients pay, but you dont have stock, You must make all effort to pay it back immeadiatly.

IM SENDING THIS LINK TO BUYCYCLE TO COMMENT, I'MHOLDING BACK ON ALL THE E-MAILS BETWEEN ME AND THEM, but if needed, I WILL POST THEM ALL.

What irkes me is they advertise like the clappers on 'specials' and then it's only XXXXXL sizes

Gotta admit, that hacks me off as well. It seems all online shops are in the habit of doing that, including CRC.

I ordered a package of about 5 items from Buycycle. They say that some of the products need to come from another wharehouse. Now they sending me twod different packages and they say I should wait for the third package to be sent as well. I thought everything was in stock? Very bad service.

About a year ago I ordered something from CWC. The service was amazing. I ordered it from them early the morning and got it the next afternoon. But on Monday when I did some research on a few products before buying from them they replied once, and never again.

Bottom line. Service sucks. No matter which one you choose.

Do your research and then decide if the price is ok.

Did that with the XT pedals I wanted, CRC was the cheapest by around R100 but Buycycle was still R100 cheaper than any LBS around. So I chose Buycycle cause I didn't want to wait 4 weeks again with royal mail. 4 days later I picked it up from our reception desk.

At least they weren't pink like the eggbeaters I once received from them. At least those pink pedals looks fine on the wife's bike now.

I stick to CRC. Buycycle suck and CWC do not have my vote either. Stock is minimal and when asking for something specific one gets shoved from pillar to post.

Wont bother in future, am going to London in August anyhow, will bring back everything i need from CRC.
