What these kids are doing and what Greg Lacey did are two very different things.

Greg Lacey was a pioneer of modern free climbing in RSA and helped introduce probably SA's best climber to sport AdK (Andrew de Klerk).

Greg was killed in an avalanche in the Alps (in Charmonix if i'm not mistaken) pursuing what he loved doing!

Kranswurm, you should know Klein Winterhoek ...

It is such an awesome spot and a truly spectacular wall.

I have unfinished business there...

(if I ever start climbing again)

I looked, I saw, I cried, I left. Only go back for the views.

They are different...but the same as well

I grew up in the structural steel enviroment in the 70s and would walk across beams and steel work quite comfortably at high level without a safety belt

I did the drawings for the main jib on the floating crane in the CT and Durban and have been where I should not....did all the tower cranes as well

Got halfway up Oceans in Dec 2007 and had to bail on Christmas day due to rain (having spent the night on a ledge). Would love to go back and finish this one off, but that won't be happening anytime soon. Would need to get climbing fit again...
