That does not make sense .... the 29 is better on technical sections but the guy on the 29er kept falling on the technical section or did the other guys fall more than twice and the guy on the 29er just fell less than they did? Did not notice that you were riding ox wagonwheels on the epic but that explains why i could not keep up with you... I rode my 26.5er on thursday for the first time since June last year, boy did it feel *** compared to my 26er, as a result I dont even want to know how a 29er feels.
