I concur - Chris just didn't have the joyful cadence of the past few months today in the TT, but who can blame him. Here's hoping though he can cope with the attacks in the big climbs and at least podium in Madrid. I think El Berto is just warming up.

Froome Dog's long season was always gonna be a huge challenge.

Hopefully, today's TT wasn't a sign that he has few matches left until the end of Week 3.

'Berto, well, what more can be said?

He knows how to race.

I am hoping Purito can hold on and get that elusive GT victory!

Yeah, even though I am a 'Berto fan, I would like to see Rodriguez take a GT top step podium, looks like it could shape up to be a Rodriguez / 'Berto party.

Yeah, you really have to admire the man's work ethic, I heard on the TV commentary yesterday the team calls him "Mr Perfection" because, a bit like Lance, he is an absolute perfectionist and leaves nothing to chance, he checks every stage, twice, his gear selection, twice, his bike set up, twice, his drinks, his food, his......everything, but I guess in today's environment thats what needs to be done to win, no longer can you just hop on your bike in the morning and go race.!

Ja Matt Keenan said he road that TT 9 times on his TT bike... Froome really looked uncomfortable I must say - in a way he did really well to get as close to 'Berto as he did.... Rodriguez was impressive but then that is as good a TT route as he will ever get for his strengths and weaknesses...

So we have 3 top class climbers within 16 seconds - with 4 BIG mountain stages to go.... who needs Le Tour!

The race is heating up nicely.

My money is on Contador still for the W

Froome is such an exceptional rider with a performance like this after the tdf.

This weekend should be gooood - Jrod might surprise and hang on for dear life

Some quotes after the TT: http://www.velonatio...loNation.com%29

Valverde still bleeting about the stage where he couldn't handle himself in the echelon in the cross winds... *yawn*

Froome dog: "To be honest, I struggled to get the speed I wanted to hold. Having said that, I also went as fast as I could. So I have no regrets"

Contador looked like he was riding with meaning.. the way he was attacking out the saddle all the time looked like the Berto of old and I would like to see him get some form and attempt a long solo breakaway in one of the 3last mountain days.. It wont be easy.. But he might give it a shot although he doesnt need to.

Ive been pondering what wattage these guys must push out.. and looking at Contador's out the saddle style vs froom I draw 2 conclusions.. Berto has massive Vo2Max.. and Froom might have a higher sustainable power output..

nice to speculate..

Rod has been issuing out some punishment on the climbs. Will be interesting to see if AC can sit on his wheel or even leave him behind.

Froome is going to have to dig in his suitcase of courage to stay with them.

Watch Gilbert The Great today for a second punchy finish.

Hope he gets it.

For us mere mortals thats a climb ;) that is roughly equivalent to kloofnek which is by no means easy in 39 x 23..

Looks like another finish for J-Rod to me....
