What i have learned:

  1. Fitness is fickle and has dropped faster than I would have liked
  2. If you are up the road I am chasing you down like the sorry prey that you are
  3. If you pass me or drop me, I was only out for a casual recovery ride in any case!

I meet up with a fellow commuter on his P&P bike , overall and safety shoes , he kills me on our uphill , I have to push my heart rate into the red to stay ahead.

Chappies is my driveway ... Main Road is the short section between Bantry Bay and the office in Cape Quarter ... I still got to get used the wind rush of passing cars ...

oh that main road, as mentioned before use the bike lane & side walks problem solved.

Eish i hate when that happens, its embarrassing for some of us & when they see a lycra clad cyclist with fancy bike & cleats, they must think to themselves "i'll teach this yappie how to ride a bike" - LOL!

That old ladies standing by the side of a bus stop will ignore your calls to move.. I have the blood dripping down my leg to prove it.

Slow down when passing pedestrians.

I got a new commuting machine! And slicks go MUCH faster than knobblies!

And ladies in SUV's will turn left infront of you while you're almost in the intersection.

Thanks OOM DIPS for the reminder, however, I was already approaching the intersection at 25kph but I heard the loud roar of an engine behind me and slacked off because the intersection is known for tjops just turning left there with no turn signals, so I at least was prepared and turned with the car. :P

It was on an uphill, i wasn't going more than 13km/h. She turned to look in my direction and proceeded to stand her ground. Once I was laying on the ground spread eagled, I heard her saying:"Oh my.." She still didn't move.

Aye. First commute yesterday after two months off. Second one today. Feels like I have blisters on my bum.

overstating the obvious here, but... if you have a long commute in, you'll have a long commute home, regardless of how lis you are for it.
