Wow, that is amazing. Well done

Thanks LOOK, although I cant really take the credit except for at the beginning after Ian had been, the day the muzzle came off until now is all her.

There is something very special about this dog - I wish I could understand it & explain it better, but I cant - she is just special. I think Tumbles would understand - some dogs are just extra special.

Its like she shows all her happiness outside her body - when she runs in the park, its like she is running from pure happiness & joy - she bounds up to people & dogs & I sometimes cringe because from her size & strength she is quite intimidating, but everyone just adores her. I have countless people stop & ask me about her & tell me how beautiful she is ^_^

You would somehow expect that from most dogs who have been loved from puppies - but it makes her even more special that she was abused & neglected & STILL has so much happiness inside of her.

Plus she has a great guarding instinct & a crazy fierce bark.

She really added something to our family & we absolutely adore her!

Marsie is recovering since her Knee operations.

She tore the tendons in both knees (a few months apart) and she has not been up on the couch for at least 6 months.

Soon she will be back on the Bed!

This makes me SO happy!!!

Dogs are amazing creatures and don't need much to bring out the best in them

For 3 weeks she was intent on doing one thing with cats - eating them.

I blame the cats for being too soft. ;)

When I was still in school we used to have this cat who would go out and beat up the neighbours dogs (though she obviously thought she was a dog since she would urinate on car tyres as well :P)

Must concur. All dogs are special. Some are, as you rightly say, my fishy friend, extra special.

Look I love my dogs.. but my Lucy cat.. she's so cute.. we have big conversations, mostly her wanting food or asking permission to jump up and come cuddle on either a fleece blankie or my pink fleece gown. .. fleece seems to be like catnip for her.. when she spots that pink gown or any fleece throw she goes gaga.

And in the early morning she comes and scratches at my nose and the duvet so I can open up for her so she can come snuggle. . I think she thinks she's a dog actually.

More from our archives, This is Mitch one of two Donkeys that my wife purchased as babies from the Lion Park,(at R25 each) and another cart I made. I became quite adept at training animals to pull carts, and here The Easter Bunny arrives on a Donkey cart. Our vet volunteered our services several times so Mitch had to be trained to carry Mary one year up the steps and into the Anglican church hall in Linden. I trained her by leading her on a long rein into our house around the furniture while the kids banged pots, the wife operated the vacuum cleaner and the radio and TV were blaring. She learned to go up and down some steps at the pool.

We took the donkeys and cart to our Kids school fete (Nooitgedacht Primary near the Lion Park) when the principal of Cottesloe Primary (Brixton Jhb) asked us to take them to their Fete. Cottesloe was the railways welfare area, where shunters who got their limbs caught between trains etc were housed. A very poor and rather helpless community - at our kids school the parents organised and ran a very successful fete - at Cottesloe there was zero management ability amongst the parents so the teachers did their best. We ended up taking the Donkeys every year for a number of years. Many of the kids had never seen any animals other than dogs and cats as they had never travelled outside of their suburb. It was educational for myself and our kids.
