Excellent choice. The Ground Control in the (tougher) GRID casing is a very good general purpose trail tyre.

i hope so didnt like the crossmark washing out under me. It kind of spoils it.

The Ground Control offers a lot more traction than a Crossmark can. Also play around with pressures. The GCs like slightly lower pressures - just don't go too low to the point where the tyre might burp or roll.

Is it necessary to put sealant in grid or lust tyre. Specialized says i shouldn't put in the grid tyre? I usually use a waterbased sealant that shouldn't affect tge tyres integrity

not necessary, but if you want it to reseal after puncturing then yes.

And that's BS of the highest order. Grid tyres and sealant work perfectly

thought so. Thanks. I evwn use it on a 2 ton off road vehicle with alot thicker and stronger tyres

What front and rear tyres would you guys recommend for general trail riding?  I have to do a lot of tarmac riding to and from trails.  Trails are not that technical.  Looking for something light with reasonable puncture protection.  I use AC Wide Lightning wheels so tyres up to 2.25 is more than wide enough

I use Fast Trak 2.1 grid on rear and Ground Control 2.3 grid front. I do general trail riding, and a mix of tarmac and dirt road to and from trails. So far I have been impressed with both these tyres in both grip and toughness categories.

Hi this may be slightly off topic:

I recently had MTB tubeless conversion done in Cape Town and sealant they used is Al's.

I have seen a comment on Bikehub that it is a bit thin - Can I just top it up with another sealant like Fuggit/Stan's etc or must the whole, lot be washed out??
