Meyer has made history in been the 1st Springbok coach to lose to the Puma's, even more pathetic is the loss was on home ground and to lose by such a margin. Big on apologies little on results, latest ranking we have dropped from 2nd to 5th, good going Meyer.

That makes it 0/3 in the current round.

so if a 100 countries played rugby we'd be about 50th, in 'soccer terms' we'd be about 30th.

As much as I agree that the Boks played poorly, I also have to question the (once again) French referee's interpretation of scrum laws.  On 2 occasions, the Pumas prop went to ground first, yet he penalised us for losing the bind.  On one occasion their front row popped up under pressure, yet they were not penalised.

The problem with the binding in the scrums is, that after the hooker has a go at the props jersey there is almost nothing else to grab hold for the opposite prop, as those jerseys are such a slim fit. The other thing with the scrums are they take too long, if there are 3 reset scrums that's almost 5 min gone. Scrums are a big problem in rugby at the moment.

Why don't they just go back to the old ways were the props were allowed to touch the ground with their one hand?  Anybody here with more technical insight?

I agree.  To much time wasted on scrums, and too much scope for penalties through technical errors, all open to the referee's interpretation on who infringed first or the most.

Hey guys

I have to say it was really disappointing to watch that game..

I was so excited at the Jesse / d Allende centre combination, hungry pair that was gave AB lots of headaches..fast ball out to them exciting rugby..enter Jean d V..omg usual boring killing the ball rugby..no creativity..had he not been the captain he would've been dropped in favor of form youthful players..

drop Jean....

While I agree this ref's interpretation is dodge at best we clearly haven't learnt from the past. We should have people who analyse these refs, their views and games officiated.

Ultimately we have to play to the refs whistle. That means adjusting our play to what the ref is doing. Not what we've trained, been told or thought beforehand.

I've got a simple solution.

Let Cosatu pick the squad, including as many PDI's as they want. That must include coaching and support staff as well.

And then let us see how well this "representative team" fares against the worlds top teams (or the Argentine's of this world. :whistling: )

And how well the ticket sales will be for these games.

Nothing satisfactory about tonights performance. Drop Pienaar and Matfield. Pumas played running rugby which is always nice to watch. Kirchner is a monkey and should not play for the boks. Nice to see de Alendes socks not on his ankles. Brussow you beauty...
