After every third or so ride with dust only or after every ride with mud:

Spray down bike with hose

Clean drivetrain and any stubborn grime on bike with Prepsol

Spray down bike again

Dry with chamois

Lube chain

Iron - that's um, different to most of us ...! Wow!! Respect.

Thanks guys, that's very valuable information.

Basically what seems to be most MO's is drive train clean with hose and some Green Clean or Prepsol and re-grease. Then general bike clean and maybe some Q20 on the forks would do the trick.

That seems reasonable enough to maintain a bike after a ride and shouldn't take too much time.

Same routine as me.

I have tried Prepsol, Clean Green, car shampoo and recently Powasol. I have been converted. Powasol is the bomb! Even the tyres look brand new after you use it. Virtually no elbow grease required. Use a degreaser on the chain and cluster though.

Lube chain after every ride and clean stanchions

Chain off and washed every 2-3 rides (depending on riding conditions, I use Squirt so to clean its just hot water and sunlight)

Every 250km onwards wheel bearings (old school ones!) and general check of bike such as brake pads, rotors, cassette, seat post, quick releases etc.

Chain off and cassette off ( cleaned in thinners and left to dry )

Bike gets full wash and all cables lubed .

fork gets cleaned and some fresh grease applied ( it's a lefty so I'm a bit more pedantic with it )

wheels off and sealant checked in tires

all put back together, dried off and some Mr min applied to bring back that show room bling .chain lubed

put on the rack for the next race , ride .

Every 5 odd rides I strip everything a regrease , from BB30 cups to seat post to stop creaking.

Fark Steaks. Do you want a TV?

From all of this I've just deducted that I'm the laziest around. :whistling:

By sheer coincidence I washed and lubed the bike Sunday afternoon.

I use one similar to this to get it off (and yes I re-use that non re-usable SRAM powerlink) :-
