MXD most probably?

How long do you guys flush the group on the Oscar before pulling a shot if it's been idle for some time?

I flush till I see 2 streams come out with no more steam, also a change in sound.

Ww - never seen one locally - will ask around locally in the am

Thanks!

I know Koldserve does Hario that has a similar kettle, but I'm looking for the temp control and not just the pouring ability

Been using a coarse Checkers House Blend grind (yellow packet) for my moka pot the past two weeks.

Very unhappy. Bland (stale?) smell out of the bag even though almost a year before expiry.

Have to pack my coffee really tight into the basket to get something respectable strength-wise (taste is blech either way). Had a few worries about the pot being a ticking time bomb due to the much extended boil time, but everything went fine :D

Time to get fresh beans and a coffee grinder before I ruin my taste buds any more.

Interesting you can choke the machine (or nearly choke it) on the grind settings - but in any case, when setting the time for the pull based on the cup size, there is nothing you can do except pull it till you get the cup full enough so that milk drinkers don't get cold coffee... (unless like my wife you put it in the microwave afterwards...)

Some feedback from the machine when I put Woolworths espresso beans into the hopper. post-1372-1390854488,8656.jpg

The previous beans were set to the third finest setting (14 the very course). Wasted three doses of coffee until the "choking" stopped. Guess I won't be buying these beans again - very bitter too

They change a lot as they get staler - not for the better either..... the first bag of it I got was very fresh and it was ok, but within a week it had changed considerably - second bag did the same, and I gave up - threw it in the super auto, and moved on.

Seems you are going to have to import one for yourself - seems you can find PID kettles locally, but not ones that are good for pouring at all - so are best avoided.
