Hi Guys, Just want to know if this is a good idea.

Im replacing my (2013 manitou minute 130mm) with what seems to be a (2011 Rockshox revelation race dual air 150mm).

What I would like to know is, would this be a good swop and will I notice the differences between the two forks?

RockShox Reba solo air forks that have variable travel I.e 80/100/120mm - is this only achieved through dismantling the fork and adding/removing spacers.

Does this not void any warranties etc? Is it advisable?

EDIT: Sorry, I'm wrong. If it's later than 2013, you have to put a new air spring in there.

But yes, it is advisable, and doing so will not void a warranty as long as it is carried out by a RS accredited service centre

I'm not 100% sure but if I remember correctly you need to change the air shaft on the solo air forks in order to change the travel. The older dual air forks travel could be changed by adding or removing spacers.

You can download SRAM service manuals for the fork and it will contain all the necessary info.....but you'll have to read the thing....some hubbers are incapable of reading manuals☺. In the manual somewhere will be a chart explaining the different air shaft lengths required or spacers if applicable. There is a comprehensive list somewhere that covers all the RS forks that can be changed. For some product lines SRAM even has videos of service procedures for those who can't read manuals.

school fees  really need to do homework before I willy nilly buy stuff.

guys at CWS says it has to be done by agent not LBS or the warranty is out the window.

Uni, if you've got a Solo Air Reba, you'll need one of these suckers:

It's an air shaft that can either reduce or increase the travel of RS forks. You need to decide whether you want to increase or decrease the fork travel and then buy the appropriate shaft for your wheel size and intended travel.

Here is the procedure:

With some patience, planning and the right tools it is doable by almost anyone.

I'm in 2 minds about this now. considering it's an old model and bought online (new) - I'm guessing warranties ain't going to be that huge. Should I just suck it up and get it done rather than the schlepp of returning the fork and trying to find a 120mm that's not gonna break the bank.

I want to increase the travel to 120mm

I figured my fork out by hopping the bike and turning knobs to see what they do....very stupid way to learn
