My only interest is the way photography is being used in this instance and I assure you my excitement over it was concerned with how effective it is. The fact it is not professional adds to its charm. It's effectiveness is demonstrated by how widely and rapidly it was disseminated. It was even on SKY last night.

The same effect can be achieved with an i-phone.

I just find the little essays people are scribbling around him rather amusing.

Guy drops his hat, and we can do a two page essay as to what his motive was behind it, it's laughable.

I see Armstrong made a statement of sorts. He posted an image of himself on twitter relaxing at his home on a couch with 7 huge frames behind him on the wall, each one containing a yellow jersy from the TDF.

 

I guess that says it all from his point of view and from the point of view of his supporters

 

I'm not a LA fan - but this is classic!!

 

It's about as big a F@@@ YOU!!! to the world as the guy could give. And for someone is his position, why not?

The most surprising thing about that photo is that it's proof that the muppit from USADA has not gone to Armstrong's house personally and ripped the jersey's off the wall. Sounds like something he would do...

Cool. And I will say for the third time. It takes some planning. If it is taken with an IPhone does not mean it was not planned. Post production means something done after the image was made. Ie stitching a few images together. Because it could be or may have been done on an iPhone does not mean it is not post production. Whole fine art exhibitions are being shot on weaker cameras than the iPhone.

 

I am sure you are brighter, better educated and more knowledgable than me in a whole host of subjects, most subjects even. Photography, the creation of images, the history of photography, interpretation of images and there dissemination is my field. I do not actually care to debate this with you. I was making a comment from my field of expertise thinking perhaps that some people would enjoy that perspective.

You are a great and knowledgeable photographer with a host of knowledge that will put me and everyone else here to shame, no doubt.

For the 4th. time, that image can be take with 360 panorama and get uploaded as is.

No post production.

I disagree that the picture was well planned from a technical aspect, I do however agree that Armstrong had a plan.

 

I disagree with your reasoning behind it, but agree with Eldron's comment as it is actually a bit more factual and carries a bit more logic.

What I can tell you as a commercial photographer is that the image is not a snap shot. It is too carefully put together.

 

I say that because the image is a multi shot panorama that has been stitched together using some or other stitching software. It is therefore a carefully considered statement

 

what! please, i can do a a panorama on my s3 quicker and easier than a hipster can do an instagram.
