*Dont suppose the 2.4 will fit on the rear of the inbred?

Measured it up.

It'll fit but it could be tight with minimal clearance between the chainstays... Seatstays seem fine.

I recommend the Smorgasbord as a rear tyre.

My brother and I are busy building up a 456 Evo2 and I'm trying to convince him to go single speed. Our budget is R10 000, we sold an old BMC soft tail that was gathering dust. We have got wheelset, frame and fork and are left with R3500. Basically just needing groupset, bars and pedals.

Ryanpmb you got any suggestions on a good single speed setup for the Hilton area? Advice on single speed vs. 1x10? Its not going to be used for anything serious, more of a play around bike.

Would be our first single speed so new to it. Cheers!

Well I'd suggest giving SS a go first. Will be a few hundred R for a kit. If you hate it you can always add a cassette and RD later. Being a 456 I'm assuming it's a trail bike kind of build - I wouldn't go harder than 32-18 and would suggest starting at 32-20 (I have a 20T sprocket somewhere you're welcome to try).

If you're around you can give my SS a whirl. It's a 29r and geared 32-17 but will give you an idea...

Great, thanks. Ya long travel trail bike. I'm not around, back in the Cape but he is. Maybe I'll ask him to get hold of you! Thanks for the info.

Yo Simon

I have a on one summer season with a 140mm fork out front, just converted it back to ss running a 32x17t setup. This is fine, but not too much fun on steep and longer gradients. Going to get a 18t to ease up the climbs a little.

Used to own a 100mm travel on one inbred ss in both 26 & 29er a couple of moons ago. 29er was great with a 32x20t and the 26er some how was Ok on a 16t setup.

Drop me a pm if you want to chat or try out the setup.

That codeine 27.5 is just pure fkn awesomeness.

What body part can i sell for one of those....?

I'll let you know which organ I'll consider as soon as I have in indication of frame set pricing. Full bike pricing from On-One is coming in at £2000 - £2500 with Marzocchi suspension and GX1 to X0/1 groupsets. Edited by Ryanpmb
