Originally bough this for my son but now mine for a SS.

I've got a faint suspicion it is the same frame as in post 14.

FD will be removed!!!

Anybody got a nice set of 175mm cranks?

Where do I get the horizontal rear wheel adjusters?

The chaintugs there was a guy selling some in classifieds not to long back, however i remember dial'dbikes having... Actually need to get some for myself too

nice, and what ratio you run, and would you do it again...

apart from the tandem argurst i rode 2 years ago, this was one of the hardest but definitely the most fun argurst I've ever done

Ran a 36x14T on a 26er so kind of in the same ballpark as you gearing wise. Spinning like a demented hamster on long downhills but pretty good anywhere else.

Jip will definitively do it again, this is my 5th CTCT on a single speed and the first sub 4 in the 5 tries so would love to try a few more times.

And you, one gear again next year?

I'd tell you that the week before the next one.

This was supposed to be purely a social/jol of a ride, missed all my buddies in 2C so started in 3A.

Joh, 42. hows the hills on that ratio?

i survived, chapmanspeak was okayish, suikerbos was little eina, but i think even if i had gears woulda been eina! the 42T was mainly for the flats and drags because that's pretty much what the route is/was like

Could you elaborate on your gear ratio?

Awesome strange looking build tho!

And where do you plan on everesting?

The gearing is 22 front and 21 rear, so basically 1:1. The gears were so small that the chain rubbed the underside of the stay, so wrapped it in some tough tyre liner for protection. Put on standard road tires and road pedals and it was good for a SS Everesting of Northcliff.

Cool achievement but I don't really understand the reasoning... I get doing it on a SS seems tough etc but given the ratio you ran, it would've been harder to do it on a normal road bike. So why would you do it with this setup unless to make it as easy as possible? In which case, normal MTB gearing would've been even easier...

Absolutely no reason other than the Lurcher is my favorite bike and single speeding is my favorite gear!

Moved from the Fatbike to normal wheels..

Managed to get this single speed 29er Inbred On One ..

I plan to build an Inbred 29er Monster Cross

I am loving the steel ride ... reminds me of hitting the streets on my BMX in the early 1980's
