When I broke my wrists I had to have 3 ops. So I became very familiar with Peth. I used to take my drip around the ward at night feeling the textures of the walls. Until the nurses found me wondering around.

LOLOLOLOL .....

Heal well and I am glad the bike is ok!

Yeah the ice id sounds ideal. Will make sure everyone I know has one. I just wanted to point it out cause its so easy to overlook it.

I took my old plastic discovery health card, punched a hole in it with a paper punch and ziptied it to a zip on my Camelback... on the card I have written emergency contact numbers and names as well...

Done...

Works like a charm

So I was riding this Sunday and decided to take an untimely dismount. This is the aftermath. Thanks to the Lady who stopped and took me to hospital and the guy who stopped and lent us his phone. Lessons learn't: 1. Don't take untimely dismounts 2. Make sure your phone works (mine wasn't) 3. Make sure you have med aid number and other details with you. Last one seems obvious but I still didn't have them. The 2nd pic is straight after surgery. You can see how happy I was. And completely goofed.

Dumbass. Wish I had my GoPro, it was spectacular.

4. Don't fall off your bike when there is absolutely nothing on the path.

Ouch. I have a very similar pic at home (following an incident at about 60kmph). Crashed the Sunday, returned to Jhb on the Tuesday, got my Ti plate on the Thursday and went back to work on the Monday. Was back on the idt during the week I went back to work.

They refused to give me peth... Had to settle for morphine up until I left Durbs, then again both the surgery to add the plate and then remove it. Morphine sucks compared to peth :-(
