Iron Posted August 28, 2012 Share LOL, I guess I am lucky that way, but I do make sure I keep her happy. When I say I am going for a 4 hour ride, it better not be a 5 hour ride. Too true , Rule gents , 3 hour rides are 3 hour rides ect ............................... NEVER BE LATE !!! Wyatt Earp
Mackie Posted August 28, 2012 Share What a load of BS, a wife should be supportive of their husbands passions and vica versa, everything in moderation I guess, my wife supports me and I he on her recreational pursuits, it is the way a good functioning relationship works. Give and take.

The Ghost Posted August 28, 2012 Share You're screwed, accept it.Keep the *** to a minimum by:Planning ahead.Consider her when planning.Try and involve the family (sometimes).Have "no cycling, family only" days.Best advice so far, i recon i should go for this one ! A typical plan goes like this:I want to ride on these days, what would you like to do on these days - ok, so, I'll start early enough to be home in time. Calendarise races or events you want to attend well in advance (make sure they in her calendar too); as and when you enter them remind her and confirm that you have paid and entered.Emphasize that you will not be riding on a given day when you decide that, it could be a rest day, injury recovery day etc, so that she can plan in advance. If she has a hobby or sport support her, but ask that she communicates her intentions in advance too. The Ghost Posted August 28, 2012 Share Must say I am also very lucky but like Boris if I say 4 hours it better be 4! I never promise a time. I indicate what Im expecting, but always keep in mind that a crash with a busted self or busted bike 30km from the car can cause delays.
