How many of the big race winners would have "lost" on a 26'er?

None!. I chatted to a top MTB rider recently. I will not mention his name. He does ride a 29er. Two things he said was.1) It is not a wonder cure if you are not such a hot rider.2) The difference is is minimal. People tend to totally overate it.

the problem is, people with bigger engines, wheels, more expensive bikes etc etc are over-compensating for a small weiner.

Do you go around comparing your huge Weiner to everyone else?

26er isn't much different to 29 but it is different. I came 4th at last weekends race on a 26er. I can ride well enough, but I can promise you a 29er is better in all aspects

Did you know Scott are no longer manufacturing 26ers for next year?

I find it hard to believe the some bike companies will stop building 26" bikes. There must still be a market for them. Does anybody know what the sales % is for 26" and 29" world wide it will be interesting to see .

there is nothing wrong with mechanical doping...

until USADA hears that perhaps because someone said that they heard you say that you rode one means that you rode one... eeeish and just because everyone else could not keep up and needed to buy one... It means that you must have ridden one at one point... also you help distribute these bikes to everyone else... The mechanics could be to blame too... because they were the enablers...

This is a mess!

I suggest we have a truth and reconciliation council for all the alleged offenders to come forward and admit that they once thought of riding a 29'er if not succumbed to the lure of riding faster without actually training! [sic]
