Ed zach....my reply to people that say its the best of both worlds are...the worst of both too.

Makes me think of the early days of the Epics (brain), someone told me, no you don't get the best of both worlds you get an 'OK HT sometimes and at other times an OK FS' .....

Meh. Everybody is a hero on their own bike.

My pet hate is people peddling blatant lies like "650B carries momentum and rolls like a 29" because well 650B is lighter than an equivalent 29er so if you believe Newton it's impossible for it to carry the same momentum and with a higher attack angle than a 29er it cannot roll like one.

Also "650 B climbs and accelerates like a 26" and has the same snappy handling and turning on tight single track as a 26 does". Uhhh no it doesn't. 650B handles less snappy than an equiavelnt 26 because it weighs more.

650B certainly has it's place in the world (although 650A would have been a better "in betweener" in my opinion) but to say 650B has all the benefits of 26 PLUS all the benefits of 29er is plain old ignorance.

That's masterfully argued and reasoned ....kudos for that.

One man's - lighter than 29er and better rolling than 26er is another man - heavier than 26er and doesn't roll as well as a 29er.

Plus - there is that wee fact that 650B is far closer to the size of a 26er than a 29er...

Really?

I see what I did there.

Should have read "religion or porn"

The way I put it was just a very bad low budget movie ph34r.png

If none of these obvious movies exist, give me a reasonable budget and I'll shoot them. The 10 Inch Commandment

Whips, Chains and (very) Able

Moses parts the Legs

Gangbang - The Holey Trinity

The Virgin Mary

The Virgin Mary II

The Virgin Mary III

The Sixty Second Coming

I'm going to have to stop there, will go onto the Jehovah's Witness Protection Program.

Sarcasm - that fun emotion when you realise you've just dropped good cash on new wheels and they're only 3.7% bigger than your old ones.

LOL .I own a 29" HT and a 26"....I also own a 650B ...I know 650B rolls like a 29" over bumps and climbs and handles like a 26.clap.gif

I saved a fortune and ended up putting some fat tyres on my 26" wheels

Handles exactly like a 650ABC

Well done...the largest 26" tyre is still smaller in outside diameter than the smallest 650B tyre.

You sure? I have a little 26" tyre that won't even fit in a 26" fork.

Quite sure.....if its XC/Marathon tyres .....down hill tyres belong on down hill bikes?

650B is a fast rolling big wheel that accelerates fast and climbs(and descends) well.

...and handles mud well.

Please take a pic of the clearance for me, I would love to see it (just out of interest, I am not being sarcastic...)

I am glad you like your wheels, each to their own. I however will not be taking up 650B anytime soon as I am happy with my tyre size as is
