That long haired twit was a tjop long before yesterday. He behaves like a self-important ******** wherever he goes

I have seen him several times at the races behaving like the world owes him a favour.

If he is the owner of NC, he really should spend less time brushing his hair, and more time on his business image.

We passed the group twice yesterday, he was leading on the outside edge on both occasions, so what the OP stated is more than likely correct.

And has an attitude of note!

So looking at all the comments here it would be safe to say:

1) NC got more press from this one R&R than they would get from advertising in Ride magazine. So they win anyway.

If any tjop (regardless of being linked to the shop or not) pays money for a jersey (NC top) and he does something wrong, it is the fault of the store for selling him a top??? wacko.png

2) depending on the size of the group and the width of the road... it might be quicker for a motorist to pass a bunch than to pass a line of riders 500m long. should another car pass from the front, you might have to force your way into the line of riders and quite easily push them off the road... just food for thought!!

3) as for ALEX, i would say he was right and wrong. pretecting the group of riders by making a motorist slow down.. succeded i'd say. but for the way he went about it... Epic Failure.

Acknowledge to the driver that you know he is there and you will make way as soon as you can.

keep left, pass right.

When the driver passes, give him a thumbs up for being patient and not a middle finger. thumbup1.gif

But i vote to send Alex to Madagascar anyway. just for good measure.clap.gif

To the long haired guy leading the Northcliff Cycles group road ride in the cradle this morning, you are an unadulterated Tjop c0cktonsil. In the Kingdowm of Tjopdom c0cktonsildom you rank a 12 out of 10.

Sorry, I read recently that there's a new word for this whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

Is using my phone's GPS also against the law? Or is it only talking?

Only when you post the segment to Strava. Then the WHOLE of cycledom (The hub will automatically assume key lynchmod role) will go on a crusade against you :D

Havent always understoof this either - surely eating a handburger, getting it out the wrapping, making sure you dont spill on yourself ect is surely as distracting as talking on a phone?

Talk about Rant and Rave column.. !!

People take the 'rant &rave' much too seriously. It should actually be called "Cycling Related Topics" and not something that invites people to attempt to act all grown up 5 year... Over all the pages I've made reference to the manner of the OP and resultant posts thereafter. Even referring to family that was brought into the 'rant & rave' by another...

What do I get for MY efforts to indicate the childishness of the manner of all this....? unsure.png

Argh :( But luckily I'm turning to running as from tomorrow 5am. Their forums are more factual, more running, more tongue in the cheek, and less equipment, less ego, less 'look at me' (Emperors clothes, anybody? ;) ) If you want to cycle with me, I'll do the occasional Tour de Lounge on my running rest days.

You see, arguing on the internet? What for? They must have done a packet at NC today. What did you guys do? Get bitter and twisted fighting amongst yourselves about who makes the best pseudo legal argument. Now poor Robox is threatening a self imposed exile. The Hub isn't the place for this. Go down there and have it out with The Russian. But this useless "look at us we're the centre of the cycling universe" crap. Good for nothing. Like I said earlier, if it were any good, The Hub would have closed at least half a dozen shops in Jhb alone. And that hasn't happened.

No exile. just abstinence from 'warriors'. I don't need pity, just more people to laugh with me...

Anyway, my leash is short.. Just now they choke me here again (God knows why!) ooh.. yes! The nature of the beast :)

Enjoy the happy (non)community!

Google translate gave me this...

Auntie Anne's onoorspronklikheid impressive to 8333 gross years! Old great night, sleep like your old popular, stereotyped borrowed have uttered sêding!.

Don't think it's got it right...

Pasop vir die bende! devil.gif Anyway, ek nog steeds 'n probleem met die 'taking law into own hands' sentiments. It implies that you place yourself ABOVE the law. And that is simply not on, irrespective of how much righteous indignation you experience!

Moet asseblief nie slapelose nagte deursweet omdat ek nie daarvan hou dat jy jouself bo die wet verhewe het nie! Jy is skynbaar te belangrik daarvoor, so kalmeer, en slaap lekker!

And do not let the deputy_ title go to your head, let the OP state his case to the alleged offenders himself. I do however doubt that will happen. If he had the cojones(as in "tener cojones") to do that, he would not have ranted on an internet forum like a spoilt brat, but rather have gone down to the shop and speak to them mano-a-mano.

And to all who think that I'm defending the alleged incident: NO, I am not. I am taking issue with the peanut gallery on the side line throwing sticks and stones about.

There are very clear laws and rules w.r.t. road usage (vehicles AND motor vehicles). Sadly, these rules are ignored by the majority of road users today. And this cuts across 'machines' being used, race, gender, age, location!

You make a good point. Unfortunately thehub has a history of people trying to resolve cyclists vs residents vs motorists in the Cradle. There have been activists, general meetings, action groups etc.

If cycling clubs are still pissing motorists off who clearly see the flip side of the argument, there is clearly no hope for the cycling fraternity who make use of these roads.

Organising massive groups to raise awareness will do sweet f all.

I truly sympathise with road cyclists having to go to these extremes to do what they love.
