Is it true that you should not hang a carbon frame, like when you travel and put the bike on a rack!?

Or is this a myth for mythbusters?

You should not hang any bike with a wheel in the path of the exhaust gas. If it does not case the carbon to delaminate, it will burn a hole through the tire.

Thanks, but what I want to know, is hanging a carbon bike bad for the frame?

There is alot of guys anti it and alot of guys (myself included) which believe the risk is fairly limited (road bike more so than MTB) mainly due to the actual terrain in which you drive on. MTB races tend to be little off road with the corrugated roads and potential for hitting holes this can potentially be a risk.

Sure a standing bike rack would be better, however i dont believe the massive cost different warrants it.

As long as the bike is secured very well on the top bar as well as with the 'belt' around the frame it should be fine

out of interest how does relate to the Chinese carbon thread you posted on ?

Neo is ready to ride!

Got the frame from the sprayer yesterday, was at the bike shop this morning and collected the completed bike this afternoon!

Keen to give it a go this weekend.

Since i have stuffed up my front carbon clincher (replace in the post) i cant actually see what is will look like in 'race mode'

rather chuffed with the outcome

If there was a RMA, you should be able to get the rim free/gratis/mahala. Not sure if you'd need to ship the old 1 back but i stand under correction.

Yes that's correct, it will be listed as replacement, he needs to take he's communication to customs and tell them to stfu. You shouldn't get charged any duties

Any orders (in Cape Town) any time soon?

Looking at building up a new road bike and quite keen on getting a frame, and possibly some deep sections.

I have read through *most* of the posts in this thread, which would you guys suggest for a race geometry? (And for the weight weenie in me...)

ATM i'm looking at the FM066. I really want something that resembles a Focus Izalco. Closest i've come is that - I dig the fat, round down tube!

The FM066 BB is BSA, does that mean the new Ultegra (Bottom Bracket: BBR60 BSA) will fit?

NICE - is that FM066? Where is it from?

Any news on the stolen bike

Nope....

It's the FM098 from Dengfu. Same like stolen bike.
