Hmmm...she is probably ex-(insert name of Big4 audit firm with green dot here) and she works for one of the 2 sugar companies based in Durban. Salary is not far off. I am 26 now. Hopefully will reach a bar in a few years time too and then I can buy a R50 bike too.

yes and yes....and got top result in articles when she did them

Some industries pay dazzling salaries, absolutely astounding.

I wish someone wise had sat me down in my earlier days and properly shown me the whole status quo in the different industries. But then again I've seen many a Ca and other highly paid jobbers that are totally disconnected from a good life no matter the bucket loads of cash swamping them at the end of every month. Wisdom, worth more than gold....

Fully erect as that is when it counts right? Who wants to brag about a 5" soft cock? Diameter is also a big thing I am told....

its not about the size of the ship in the sea its about the motion of the ocean...

This prompted me to look at one of the salary surveys in my industry ...

When I started 28 years ago, the pay scales were good, especially in the Creative field. Now, I think the job description has changed - there's very little intellectual stimulation and the rewards aren't good.

If your kids want to go into Art Direction or Copywriting, dissuade them.

Kids tend to run faster towards things we tell them to avoid :(

And then I probably know her as I did my articles with said big 4 company...but did not get top results. I came 11th in Board exams (because they only name the top 10 I can only assume i came 11th ^_^ )

This is the part I don't get... how some jobs pay super high, and others are average to low, even though they're technical/require a 4yr professional degree.

For example, we have a family friend who was earning about R1.3m per annum as the CFO for a fairly big company (just before he retired). I know this because he was telling us that his daughter was working as a risk manager for some investment company. She didn't have any qualification, but her 12th & 13th cheque combined were more than his annual.

He was saying that as much as he loves his daughter, it's criminal what she's being paid.

I feel there are quite a few jobs out there like this. It's no longer the doctors and engineers at the upper end. But "businessmen" (whatever that means).

In line with that, I think that some of those 100k+ voters might own their own business, so pay themselves WAY above market related salaries.

My sister is the accountant at a small company. The owner takes R200k/month salary. The rest of the staff are paid below market related.

As much as some people hate the big corporates, I think as middleclass workers, they are the most fair salary wise

if you made it big enough with your own business you would also take a large salary... the sacrifice, hard work and risk involved to get a successful business going is larger than anyone can think.

i know that cause I am closing down my business after two years of working 14 hours a day, 6 days a week and losing a mini fortune in the process...

Ok, main reason for this poll is to benchmark it to a similar poll on the 4x4 community forum. They showed a non-normal distribution which they attributed to 4x4 drivers being more well-off than the rest of the population. I disputed that saying that it is more likely that people are telling pork pies.

This poll also shows that exact same non-normal distribution.

What is suppose to be normal then?

Suspicion confirmed then. Next Question: "How many inches are you packing?" (I dare you) That'll get some interesting answers.

29 to be precise.

Journalism too. Have told my kids I will disown them should they follow my career path.
