IMHO you can't go much better on a "budget" than XO. I've been riding that for 4 years now and it is strong as anything and handles anything that some of the races including 3 years of Lord of the Chainrings (3 days of mud and guts) can throw at you.

Unfortunately I have had no great experiences with Shimano. I'm sure they're good but I'm a SRAM devotee, It's never let me down!!

I would however also like to try the new XX1 config. Main issue with the top end sets are that they are angled more towards team riders in their design and therefore might require more maintenance.

Got the CWC special, R10999 fitted, for a full XO rig, I think it looks Ayoba! Testing it (for the first time) at the Knysna 80km tomorrow!

Not really a special though

Cassette R4149

Crank BB30 R3539

Derailleur R3379

Gripshifter R1769

Total R12836

Now hotspotcycles quoted on one of there other ads that a BB30 groupset would be R12900

For R64 ill rather buy from a shop where I can walk in and talk to them if something is wrong.

Also just make sure you get a Chainring with the groupset...

Supplier changed cranksets so that they are now supplied WITHOUT the chainring but at the same price!

XX1 Chainrings are about R1100 each...

100%! Ons prys sluit chainrings in. Laat weet maar.

Ons sal ook maklik CRC se X01-pryse beat wanneer X01 beskikbaar is!

Go ask the bike shop mechanics. I have not heard one that recommends SRAM.....

SRAM is off my personal bikes. Preference? I suppose like Campy. costly but bullet proof.

No bike mechanic I spoke to would recommend SRAM and ia sked a few over the years. No BS.

Go Figure. Marketing Dollars? American versus Japanese engineering?Would you drive a GM Truck or a Toyota? Make mine Japanese....

What is you point? This is a SRAM XX1 thread. We discuss the XX1 groupset. Not Shimano vs SRAM.

Nothing wrong with SRAM, every brand has it blips and lemons from time to time, but I am much happier with SRAM on me 5 'dales that I ever was with Shimano.

SRAM have been innovators - first 2x10 now 1x11, I am going to wait for that X0 kit to try on my hardtail

Sorry stupid question and might have been answered, can I convert my current Sram Quarq 2x10 crank to 1x11?

I know I will have to replace everything on the back.

Umm , I think the XX 1 is made by SRAM?

IQ of 2, was it you sprouting the same *** in one of the other threads Shimano vs Sram recently.

So now we face a delema:

Either you are you a troll?

Your IQ really is 2.

You are still on that powerful prescription medication.
