ibruegge Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I'm lost - it's either getting fat, being over tired, not make it to work in time or not watching the TdF at all. How do I manage to do it all??
Red Zone Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Go to bed early, Get up early, go to work at 7 am then head to the gym and sit on a bike while watching the TDF from 4pm or 4:30, do this for three weeks and you will be fit. I used to start my cycling season this way and it was a really good base

dracs Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 (edited) I'm lost - it's either getting fat, being over tired, not make it to work in time or not watching the TdF at all. How do I manage to do it all??jeez I hear you. And throw in getting to see your kids before they go to bed in the evenings. At the moment training and tdf are taking a backseat to work and family, and fat and unfit has already happened... The solution I have decided on but not yet implemented is to pull my trainer out of retirement - and will kill 2 birds with one stone in the evenings and catch up on last couple of hours of the day's tour while doing some base work on the trainer... T-Bob Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Own the company, stream TdF all day to the hatred of most of the other staff and head to the pub religiously each evening to catch the end of the stage with a few craft ales in hand. Then carry on talking story how you'll be up for the early because 'faaaark, I was born to ride, look at these calves, split muscles I tell you...' waddle home, eat what ever you can in the fridge (thinking you're carbo loading), watch the reruns of the stage in total belief that you'll be there at 5am with all that kewl new winter kit you got from CRC. Crash, snore, dream of punching a break away up the 21 turns to victory. Wake up at 7am, blame the alarm rinse and repeat. May not be fitter but feeling more french by the second. V12man 1

It is going to be a rough few weeks for you.Good luckSarge Think I might have a DNF next to my name. Especially as I have stocked the shelves with burgundy and the fridge with Stella, Pate, Camembert and Toulouse sausage. It's winter, you're allowed to indulge, I'll train and be back for summer!

So I try and watch the recordings the next morning before work, which sucks, casue I have read all the results by then (and don't make it to gym...). dilemma of note hahah!
Eugene Oppelt Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 It's winter, you're allowed to indulge, I'll train and be back for summer! Yeah, bit it's not so lekka to feel like / look like an overstuffed sausage in one's cycling jersey...:-P T-Bob 1
