Ja flip, but Brands "Indy" layout is simply the start-finish straight and turn at the end of it, that first two turns thereafter and then instead of heading off onto the real track (into the woods) you take a long right-hander back onto the straight.  You'll get dizzy watching it!

Ja. Dumb. 45 second lap time. 30 lap race. They lap the slow guys 15 laps in.

I've always preferred the BSB to the American one. can't even remember the American version. But yeah - 45 sec - how many laps were they doin!?

33 riders on the grid. That's more than WSBK and Moto GP.

Apparently the feeling from the Yamaha factory team launch in Barcelona(Spain)was that Lorenzo was trying to avoid being drawn into any commentary on the Sepang/Valencia incidents and that Rossi is definitely not looking to bury the hatchet, still carrying a bit of a grudge. No HRC launch yet, speculation of a complete new motor, so no commentary from MM.

Does not bode well for the new season which if so, is very sad indeed.

There are a lot of other things going on besides the Rossi and gang doings . Brad Binder will be number one rider for KTM this year and his times in practice this year put him in front of the pack . His brother will still stay with the same team as last year .

So he should do well.

Whatever happened to the Odendaal chap in Moto2?

Personally I think that is about as far as Brad will get, Moto2. Not enough financial backing and the wrong nationality I'm afraid.

I started watching him(Brad) last year....he might be the wrong nationality, but he seems to have the right stuff....hopefully he gets the chance to prove himself...

Nothing beats the feeling of a south african in the running

Unfortunately Nationality, sponsorship and revenue are major factors.

Many believe Miller got his ride to capture the Australian market. Same reason why Nicky Hayden has held onto rides which he possibly shouldn't have had. American market is huge and from this year they have no "representation".

If we could get Kyalami back on the calendar Brad may stand a better chance. Seen videos of the new layout and the track looks amazing so here's hoping.

I see that there is a lot of speculation, Jarvis was interviewed and the feeling is that all the factory rides, bar Vinales, are expiring end of 2016. He said moves may be announced as soon as the 3rd or 4th round whereas JL has said why wait that long, if you can seal a deal before the start of racing at least that is off your mind.

Vinales has an additional year clause at Suzuki, probably performance based. He has also been linked to replacing VR at the Yamaha factory team. Could he join as early as 2017??? JL linked to Ducati more and more, VR contemplating retirement. Then you have HRC, will MM try and win with a different manufacturer, will DP be kept.

Oh, see MM has prematurely cancelled his merchandise contract with the VR46 company and on top of that cut ties with the Nieto family with regards to accommodation at the races, they have publicly backed VR in the spats last year.

This fight, I think, is far from over.

It is sad that the marketing aspect is greater than the talent aspect.

I always use the example of Katja Poensgen, when she came out here in the late 90s early 00s for World Supersports, she was doing lap times 1.5 secs slower than we did in regionals, she had a full factory Corona ride, and then she got a full factory Aprilia the next year in 250cc.... and scored a total of 2 points with a best of 14th I think.

She got the job because it was a good marketing move, not because she was the best. But this is the reality of sponsrships, there has to be a ROI for the guys.

Its a pity, as there must be so many talented guys out there that might be the next VR or MM, but we will never hear of them as they do not have the means to get the right rides.

I speak under correction here but I think she was pretty much self (daddy) funded.

Karel Abraham's dad owns Brno and funds him.

Unfortunately the days where riders get paid are behind us. Save for the top top tier teams the teams are run as businesses and riders are expected to bring funding to the team. Either through personal sponsors or Dad's chequebook.

Isn't Kyalami too short to host Moto GP?

Laguna Seca is much shorter than Kyalami.

Edit: The new layout is going to be frighteningly fast, I cannot wait!
