Anybody else think their Expo arrangements are rather a pain?

Perhaps it keeps the vagrants out, but seems OTT.

The whole Argus experience has become a big effort and expense for a rather short event.

Oh well , in for a penny, in for a pound.

I really hope so... i would hate to ride an alternative route on my first Argus...

Like my first Argus, went over Ou Kaapse Weg.

I'm doing a training ride of the Argus route in a few weeks time, will report back regarding the conditions on Chappies.

Chappies is A Ok but for a very short section opposite the entrance to Hanging Meadows - only a few hundred metres. Its a single lane controlled section while they clean up the mess (mud, rocks and twisted gambions). This is the very last section of Chappies just before the end coming from Noordhoek. The rest of Chappies was undamaged.

Very slow, but I have no doubt the whip will be cracked before the Argus.

True, i ride that route every weekend and sometimes in the week, i've seen very little progress there with regards to rubble removal!!

I can only imagine that come closer to middle of next month(when its almost too late), Chappies will be closed again to focus on the clean up process, thus being a huge inconvenience to the cyclists who ride it and use it for training!! The closer we get to Argus, the more cyclists im seeing out and tackling Chappies!! So it needs to be done ASAP, would hate for Chappies not to be included!!

Also, just a qu, because most of the rocks and debris are on the descent of Chappies, have they ever thought of perhaps doing the Argus in the opposite direction(almost like comrades)?? Because then the debris will be on the uphill section and pelotons/bunches will be smaller and it would be less dangerous for riders (if the debris hasnt been cleared)??!!

Just a thought??!!

Stress not. With 100% certainty, you will read about it here the second they are sent out.
