i bought a Kask helmet at the expo last year for a real good price. They are great helmets! I love the expo though and think there are bargains to be found.

Which stall did you buy it from and an indication of price :)

Make no mistake, I love riding the Argus, I love the vibe, the closed roads, the crowds of supporters, the scenery, the timing, the fellowship of riders, I can go on and on and on...........

I just hate the Good Hope Centre.

I'll still keep riding the Argus even if they hold the Expo in Jozi (sorry, couldn't think of a place in Cape Town that was worse  ). I'll just send someone else to go pick up my number, and that is exactly what shouldn't happen. Because if enough people do that, then the exhibitors will stop coming and the whole thing will wane, if that isn't already happening.

What the Expo need is a user friendly venue where people will want to go, hang out, have a coffee and a muffin, meet up with friends, browse, buy stuff.......a celebration of cycling! Every bike importer will have a stand with all their latest and greatest on show. Every gadget conceivable will be on show and for sale for a special price. Oddities like unicycles, single speeds and fixies will be there and a madcap lot will play bike polo outside. And of course the Bar One girls....

.... And of course the Bar One girls....

Okay, you have my attention. We were talking about what again?! :whistling:

Haha, ja, the problem is just trying to cater for the absolute truckload of people. I try to get there before the peeps who drink ice with their wine.

That said, I can only imagine the CTICC will be able to cater better for this. Friend of mine said the Oceans' registration was MUCH better once moved there.

Are we all done moaning about our seeding? So we can move along to the weather/wind predictions and discussions.

The thing about the organisers not building wind breaks to lessen the effect of the Southeaster on the later riders is just plain unfair. And while I'm at it, how about a mist spray tunnel to keep the slow people cool. You know, the fast guys go fast enough to have airflow cool them. The tail-enders move so slowly...... :cursing: . ;)

My point of view wrt registration is that you are going to struggle to find a suitable indoor venue to handle

+35 000 people. Things are going to be cosy no matter what.

So just handle it. Don't go in with a sour face ;)
