Have a 2004 (or maybe 2005?) Specialized S Works Epic with XTR V Brakes idling in my cellar

Wondering what to do with it...?

 

Will take a picture / post it here later, maybe it will cheer the old thing up a bit :thumbup:

I have a scott scale 60 hardtail vir avid v-brakes.

it's a 26' with tubes and tyre liners. Also converted to singlespeed.

Only time the brakes are an issue is when it's wet and muddy

I'ts a pity you don't get decent level V brake bikes any more, certainly i have not seen any in bike shops lately. V brakes are well suited to most terrain in Gauteng except wet and muddy conditions. I used to have a Merida LX with V brakes and trust me the stopping power was excellent, as i often found out by somersaulting over the front bars.

Still ride a Raleigh RM5 which I got in 2006.

Went off mtb for a while and spent money on road bikes...got back into mtb a while back but flying is an expensive game so the upgrade I have wanted to do for a long time is taking time.

Many things need replacing but have been told its a better option to just ride until they collapse, which is taking a loooong time. Strong bike that one!!
