26" to 650B (27.5")

I've recently upgraded my Scott Spark RC to 650B. I find it's an improvement and at the sime time blew some new life into a nice bike that would have gone to waste. (One get's nothing for 26'ers these days despite the spec and worth of the bike) What do you think and or what do you do with that high spec 26'er in the garage?post-32607-0-55945500-1380801538_thumb.jpgpost-32607-0-55945500-1380801538_thumb.jpg

BTW, steek jou nommerplaat weg

Hi P.A.K.

Moes DT Swiss vurk opsit.

Ek sal graag dieselfde met my zula wil doen.

Great bike!

A cautionary note though - those Ritchey Shields are tough to plug. Plug stays in for a radnom amount of time then all you hear is PWING.....PSSSSSSSSS......GGRRRRRRRR.....&^%*&^%#*&^%#*&^%&!!!!!

Hi Bos

Ek weet nie of ek my verbeel nie. 'n Nuwe speeding voel mos nou altyd lekkerder.

Thank's Eldron for the advice. The Ritchey's was used as they make a better fit for the fork and it's dimensions. (Apparently) What tyre would you use for this conversion?

Great tyres those Ritcheys. I only race XCO with them though because of the plugging issue (no stage racing). Very light with awesome grip!

There are a few 650B tyres available now Vee Rubber, Schwalbe - not sure they're as low profile as the Ritcheys though - alas I don't have much experience with 650B. Most of the Schwalbe stuff is 2.25 but there are Rocket Ron Evo TL folding 2.1 in the country....should be low profilte enough....

With that DT fork, I do not think that you can get more than a 2.1 tyre in there?

Tyre choices are a bit limited in the 2.1 /2.2" sizes: There is a 2.1" Rocket Ron Evo PaceStar 650B which I am going to try on Saturday. Didn't have much luck with that (expensive) Quasi Moto 2.2" from CWC
