Two arrests have been made. Cops are on it still. Cant say much more for now. Bike has been recovered as mentioned, completely disassembled. We are hoping for more developments.

Was the bike not striped before it was stolen? If the thieves can do such a quick spray job why do I have to wait weeks to get my stuff back!!!

 

On a serious note, I agree. These buggers and all accomplices need to be stopped.

I got a pic yesterday from a buddy with the bike stripped and layed out in pieces it was found in stellies so iam told, I tried calling ashraf but no answer and feroz couldn't speak to me he was busy in a video conference.

@Babse & @Meezo. i live in Plumstead and often ride down Jan Smuts, maybe we as cyclists should set up our own little sting operation?? Maybe we can ride Jan Smuts up and down a few mornings but have a friend waiting at the intersections in a car or something and maybe this way we can catch these guys because we can then atleast follow the culprits IF something were to happen!!?? i know its a long shot, but its an idea which may or may not work... These culprits dont just go park off there on random mornings hoping someone will come past, im sure they see cyclists daily routines and times etc and then they plan a hit like after seeing the same guys in the same area for maybe say 3 or 4 days in a row for example??

 

I know that idea is a long shot, but its not nice to hear fellow cyclists are being robbed of their treasured possessions!! i know myself i couldnt afford another top of the range bike if mine were stolen, yes theres insurance etc, but thats not what its about.. im sure we have all built a rshp with our machines and no-one wants to just get on another bike and ride... its also not a nice feeling to go out early morning, and instead of enjoying your ride relieving stress and training, you must now be more vigilant and be weary of every car which stops because you feel they might be out to mug you, and because of this, instead of going around cars at a safe distance from being knocked, we now have to go a little bit further around as we fear a guy jumping out and jacking us, and this is also more dangerous because of the cars behind us...

 

So i say, lets, as cyclists, plan something.. Not to kill and take the law in our own hands obviously, but il rather have my bike back or atleast find where these culprits are taking all these bikes to....

I agree with the Sting Operation..Im basically right next to Jan Smuts..anyways..my bike has be dormant for 3 weeks! For obvious reasons...
