YUP....the detour route is way harder, it's a special kind of sub3

I'm pretty sure there is a stash of hypothetical remedial works designs for chappies, they have a infrastructure management plan where all the future problem areas have been highlighted... and solved, as I understand the roll out was just a capex issue... so I have a feeling little to no engineering work needs to be done, its just a matter of applying the engineering solutions on hand to the problem as it has presented... I could easily be wrong on this though.

I don't see that damage repaird by race day, and I dont think the organisers will wait to the end to decide. Ou Kaapse weg, here we come. Will be fun to do the detour again

I was there on Sunday. They were already busy cleaning up. It seems the damage is only at the last few corners before Houtbay. I'm sure they would be done before February..... I hope..... please not Kaapse weg...

You could stop at that little place just before Chappies for some hydration and a snack and then again in hout bay before going up bossie hill and then again somewhere along bossie hill and then again in Camps bay and then again with some friends on the promenade, before finishing ?

 

This is critical defcon zode red ! How many times will I have to drive through the toll both to make sure they have enough money to make sure the chappies route is open? Wait, I have to get to the toll booth .......... aaarrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh
