Not sure hey, I snapped my achiles and took my first jog after about 4 months.

The rehab plays a big roll but not sure how a torn meniscus gets rehabed.

Absolutely, it depends on a whole bunch of variables. But overtime has it changed much? I would expect it to due to age, but some people get stronger with age.

As someone said before, to those people who stay away for a while then come back as if nothing happened - yor I curse you :whistling: I can only wish.

On that note and similar question, how long before your skills is back up to scatch?

I'm a newbie at cycling so not sure how much skill is needed and/or lost, but looking at sports like tennis/squash/rugby etc where there is a definite fitness and skills requirement. This however is where natural talent has a huge impact i suppose.

You don't lose skill. Your confidence levels required to perform the skills may drop but the skill is yours once you have mastered it.

Unfortunately, in cycling this is not true for most people, but obviously there are a few exceptions.

Age certainly affects recovery time, so the young guys have a massive training advantage ie. they can train harder and more often than an older person.

Unless you are a Mclean or a Beneke, you will feel the effect of age when the young bucks put the hammer down.

I wouldn't go back to live. The place is over run with Nigerians. I only stop at the Doll House and Radium every now and then and then get the hell out..

SOUNDING MUCH BETTER MUST SAY

Well - that assumes a partial menisectomy under an arthroscope - if it's a complete menisectomy done open, then it's a longer... guess you will find out soon.... :)

Eish, sorri to hear DIPS...is it a recent or old injury

Depends what kind of op you have, are they going to sow up the tear or just clean up the damaged bits?

Don't want to be a professor of doom BUT I had a torn meniscus op (tear was stitched up and damaged bits removed) in January and was out of action for over 12 weeks, was on crutches for a lot of the time....
