Don't waist ur time with all these pretender brands! Find someone who rides a Lynskey pro 29er. Built mine for under 30k, full XT, ztr crests, comes in at 10kg.

Just got the titanium handlebars, seat post and stem...now 11kg These bikes can take real punishment, u don't have to be a carbon ninny.

Once u go titanium there's no going back..u can have it in any color as long as it's silver.

The Alu flash with best specs will weigh almost exactly the same as the carbon 3. I heard the difference in weight between the two is minimal. better components are the way to go.

Again, you think it is a great bike, I broke 2 of them in less than 6 months and thought they felt stringy.

Love the Ti road bike but the MTB just felt wrong to me. So again, Alu, Carbon, Steel or Ti, you will never know which one you prefer until you ride them all. More than once.

I think you should build a bike, research your stuff, pick a colour scheme, shop around and end up with your own personal baby.... CRC is selling some awesome Ti frames for 12 grand at the moment. There are some fantastic steel bikes around and you can take your pick at alu and carbon as they are a dime a dozen....

You Cannondale and Spez fans...... Toyota's with 2 wheels.....

Not disagreeing, but the theory is that if you go 29'er hardtail it should be carbon in order to make it a softer ride.

That is what the experts say

Check out the SAVE seatpost if you want to go softer on a hardtail. Oops, also a Cannondale product. :whistling:

I would absolutely love to add a flash or stumpy to my arsenal....they are extremely good looking and people denying this need to go to specsavers...thoroughbred racing machines. Truth of the matter is that I simply can't afford one, so I would rather put them in the ferrari / lambo bracket...hardly a toyota

I will let you take my stumpy for a ride one day if I can ride the Vassago
